Valentines Sucks, Just Have Fun By Yourself Instead
So, whether your planning on partaking in Galentine's Day/ Singles Awareness Day, hating Valentine's because you're asexual/aromantic meanwhile indulging in whatever self-care activity such as a good bath, a box of chocolate, putting some makeup on from seemingly fit, Halsey's ANTI-VDAY collection, watching some Disney +, Hulu, etc., you're also going to need some good tunes to listen to that fit the anti-love vibe in your home. I'm here to tell you about those songs seeing that I already had an asexual/aromantic playlist but, can also fit if you're just not in the mood for love and/or breakup songs but, you're into romance and sexual feelings. The playlist is in a different order than this blog because I decided to try to group these songs in this blog by theming.

Love Is Not Enough
Love is one of those things we all want to experience and be in. We yearn for it, and once we get it, we realize it’s the most beautiful while still being the scariest as well. We sometimes even start a relationship knowing it won’t last, but the passion is so intense we think we can get through anything. We soon learn this is not always the case, passion and love are not enough. As you try to love your way through you begin to loose yourselves in an attempt at trying to love enough for both people. In these circumstances a great song says the things you feel and the sounds of the music and the lyrics of the song assist in he healing and helping us get through the pain. As we start to realize something is off, we start to detach to protect ourselves. A great song will pull those emotions out of you and in its own way help you to heal and realize what you are feeling. Be My Gal-entine?
The Earth has once again completely orbited around the sun. We have officially landed on Valentine’s Day. Valentine’s Day, a holiday half of the world highly anticipates. In the name of love, couples all across the globe make small gestures like picnics and love letters, to grand gestures like trips out of the country and marriage proposals. As for the other part of the world, this is just a big fat reminder of how single you are. For some this day hits hard. Scrolling through social media, you can find memes about how single and lonely Valentine’s Day makes people feel. The memes are meant to be funny but it’s hard not to feel sad at the underlying truth in those memes. The truth is, some people really feel alone and unworthy on Valentine’s Day. Seeing people enjoy that they've found true love is beautiful but seeing so much of it all at once, leaves outsiders overthinking. Thoughts like “I wish I had that”, “why don’t I have that?” or “Is there something wrong with me?” start up in our heads. I know, cause I’ve been there. If you are single on Valentine’s Day, the answer is no. There is nothing wrong with you for being single on Valentine’s Day or any other day. Being single on Valentine’s Day can mean you’re just not at that point in life yet. Although it hurts, know that it is okay. After all you can be my Gal-entine or Pal-entine. To celebrate this Gal-entine's, I chose some of what I think are the most fitting songs by some of my favorite gals.

I Hate Everything About U
When scrolling through the vast number of songs that could easily make any Anti-Valentine’s Day play list, there is one song that distinguishes itself from many others. It encapsulates, for me, the spirit of Anti-Valentine’s Day in that it expresses very much the opposite of that lovie-lovie smootchie-smootchie garbáge that a day like Valentine’s requires. The original song was recorded by a hard-rock / heavy metal band from the early 90’s who’s name alone might start us off in the right direction for our Anti-Valentines Day celebration: Ugly Kid Joe. Their debut hit is the perfect break-up song, the perfect I’m-pissed-off-with-you song, and, in my most humble opinion, a superb candidate for the anthem of Anti-Valentine’s Day: “Everything About You” absolutely must top the list of any Anti-Valentine’s Day sentiment.

Ahh Valentines Day, the day of lovers and spending a sickening amount of money on someone that probably would have just enjoyed a well-planned outing. Are you lonely? Do you hate Valentine's Day? Do you skip love songs?
As someone who has a chronic history of falling for emotionally unavailable men, love songs haven't always make me feel warm and fuzzy inside. They used to be the songs I'd often skip when my Spotify was on shuffle.
