Freedom, at long last!
I had a troubled youth. That is the only safe way to express that. Shortly after I turned 15 we moved into a house that we had to share with another human. I use the term 'human' lightly, as this particular person would constantly make all of my friends uncomfortable, particularly those of the feminine variety (I've had issues with trusting males my entire life). This 'human' worked as a security guard, as well, and had access to firearms.

Amelia had been working late since Thursday’s were the busiest day of the week. Which meant the store was open late. Amelia owned a yoga studio with the store front being a bookstore. Yoga classes ran till 10 pm. She didn’t mind that as much because it meant she could hang out in the book section of the store and stalk shelves with the new arrivals. Plus, she lived just upstairs, so it's not like she had to travel very far to get home.

Boys of the Jungle
BANG! The trunk door slammed closed on his mom’s Honda Civic. The beige car with its rusted wheel wells, and terrible power steering was the only car his mother had ever owned, but this was the fifth home they’d moved into — at least of those that he was old enough to remember. In his hands was the last of the cardboard boxes that held their things. In this particular box was the last of his own belongings: Comics he no longer read, a martial arts uniform for a studio he could no longer attend, old socks. None of these things were particularly heavy for the fourteen-year-old, and yet he found himself struggling to carry the box up the front stairs of the apartment complex.

Next Chapter - Magnetic Love?
I have fallen deeply in love three times during my life so far, and they were all intense affairs that ended with unresolved feelings. The first time was with my ex-husband. It lasted over 28 years and was a rollercoaster of incredible proportions, marked by some great loving, caring and appreciation at the beginning, and resentment, anger, and frustration at the end. When we finally parted there were still a lot of attraction, but much sadness between us.
