Praythee, hark. You have come for a tale, and we have quaffed a peltful of ale. . . (That rhymes, what joy!) and the lot falls to Us to tell the tale of Palandrus. Of the desperate battle. Of the loss of our planetary system. We must talk of our people. We must remember. For the lost.

Revival. Top Story - August 2024.
Blustery winds buffeted the canvas walls of the little tent causing them to make a cracking sound so loud it woke Aaron and Jane from a deep sleep. While the two were resting the cold weather had coaxed the companions into unconsciously cuddling to stay warm. Now they were awake, both scurried to the opposite sides of the tent, each looking a little embarrassed. Aaron was the first to leave the tent to empty his bladder and start a fire. Jane, still looking a little uncomfortable from her close encounter, left the camp for a short time but returned a little later with some wood for the campfire.

To all my fellow creators
Why do you share your work and journey with your social network? Nobody cares about what you do in your life. ⏩This! How often do we come across this statement? The argument for instant gratification that we gain while sharing glimpses or content about our journeys being detrimental for us, in the long run, is completely valid. The validation that we crave from external realms often stems from a lower sense of self-esteem.

Relocated (Chapter 2)
The letter from the drones said the following: “The world as you know it is about to be destroyed with nuclear warfare. The five of you have been spared. Through the rainforest, at the base of the mountain, where the cluster of papaya trees is, there is an underground bunker that has been prepared for you. Find the bunker quickly as it has items that you’ll find useful.”

Relocated (Chapter 1)
Mitch rode his bike with no hands down the sidewalk. The day was young and the sunshine felt just right on his shoulders. He wore a blue tank top with gray gym shorts. On his right side there were lapping ocean waves on large rocks. On his left side there was speeding traffic. The salty mist from the ocean tasted nostalgic. The exhaust from the motor vehicles on the other side of the road was a bit annoying. He kept riding down the sidewalk, charging at the blasting breeze. He looked to his left and saw a convertible with four girls in bathing suit tops. They were singing to some Beach Boy music. They waved at him flirtatiously. His bike hit a small pothole and he nearly swerved into a ditch on the side of the road. Just in time, before an accident occurred, he jumped off his bike. He wiped his face as beads of sweat sprang forth from his forehead. He looked over to the right and saw a very nice peaceful beach. The beach waves waved at him in a way, also flirtatiously like the girls who’d passed by seconds earlier. He tied his bike to a tree with a small lock and chain. Pulling his shirt off, he ran full force at the waves, attacking the water. Smiling, he felt happy as there was no one else around at the moment. Sometimes when he’d gone to beaches, there were too many people around and it was hard to feel as in tune with the nature. The water was cool and exhilarating, what a great day it was!

SmartyStan
The chip to be inserted in the brain to offer anatomical, biological, and neurological statistics among other functions, had been a thought in Belinda’s head while she built her company. Her learned machines fared well with the experiment. This was after thousands of hours of practice and failure and restarting and finally getting it right. This took fifteen years. As the machines could check their own battery capacity and have in their wheelhouse data that would be able to be relayed back to humans at computers, Belinda rejoiced at the idea of her creations keeping them. Then, she felt the twinge of ideation. She wondered if these can be implanted in humans.

Smartystan
Beads of sweat congregated at Belinda’s temples like so many eagles in a convocation. It was five o’clock in the morning as she ran through what was once thought of as Wilmington, Delaware. The chip in her brain allowed her to get a lightning response to the conditions of her body from her heart rate to her hydration levels. She paused to sip an electrolyte rich beverage. A call came through.
