Sparrow on a Plank Chapter 12: Finding Heaven Before Going to Hades
Hajime was smiling. He had just eaten a great meal and had been gifted the leftovers as well as a bag of takoyaki. The sun was in the sky with nary a cloud and he had a great job that involved a lot of travel. Better yet, his fortune cookie had said that his life was looking up.

Tattoos & Rail Guns Chapter 12: The Little Shoeshine Boy
The gargoyle dropped off the camera and flew out of the rook. Deezle the Defiler hooked the camera up to his laptop and proceeded to watch the footage. He became visibly more upset with every frame. At the end, he had to prevent himself from smashing the camera to bits or at least tossing it through a wall. He couldn't believe what he had seen; he hadn't expected the shade to survive; it was a minor demon at best and therefore imminently expendable, but it had practically died on arrival. The soldiers could have killed it.

Kissing Cindy. Content Warning.
TAUGHT YOUNG Happily ever after was never what she was chasing. Cindy’s stepmother made certain of that. Jealous of a child who still believed in rescue, she taught Cinderella early that princes were not saviors; they were opportunities. That love, once offered, became leverage, and in a kingdom built on power, leverage was everything. She was taught to break hearts the way others broke bread: deliberately, without apology, and always to survive. The woman who taught her to wield love as a weapon would later frame her as a sunset of darkness for using it too well. Beautiful, blamed, and accused of causing darkness.

In most ports he was treated as a necessary evil, but in Coldport he was treated as a sign of times past, times that would be better forgotten.

Sparrow on a Plank Chapter 10: The Sparrow Flees the Scene
There was, of course, a reason that there were no one guarding Hajime. That reason was running toward his old room as quickly as it could. The two of them were not afraid to use any tactic to succeed, whereas the cultists kept relying on their dueling skills.

The Cave Part 3
Everyone knows that feeling. Your eyes open, often after a very satisfying rest, and all you do is stare at the ceiling for a time while just listening for sounds and trying to interpret what they are. Sometimes there is nothing but silence, and that can be a little unnerving. Fortunately that is not what I woke too. I could hear the steady flow of water, if slightly muffled by the sliding wood door to my right. Sunlight illuminated the room, finding every chink in the buildings make up, a few beams falling directly on my feet. They thus glowed brightly, and I flexed them a little, watching my toes curl in the pleasant warmth.

Tales of Elarion
Lucar sat upon his bedroll, listening to the rain, his mind lost in the rhythm as it hammered the canvas above. His expression was blank, his eyes unfocused, but locked on the small fire burning at the tent’s entrance. Rain hissed and steamed as it fell across the logs in sheets, yet the flame never faltered.
