The Cycle Of Inevitability
As I am coming up on the age of 21, I have been reflecting on my bad habits and trying to understand where they came from. Although I have been working on them since I turned 18, I find it hard to shake them off completely. I’ll be going through the experiences I had with my parents and analysing where my bad habits formed and what could have been done to prevent them.

Coming Home Early
George stopped and stared at his front door, taking in all the details. The purple paint that his wife had insisted upon was beginning to show signs of wear. The edges were peeling ever so lightly, dirt and grime had built up around the handle. The brass door knocker was beginning to tarnish as well. George hated this door. He had not wanted a purple door, to him it was obnoxious and gaudy. His wife Emily had informed him he was wrong and simply did not understand these kinds of things and in the end he had relented. He admittedly had no eye for décor, but it still did not mean he had to like it.

The Dragon On My Back
SINGAPORE was where I set foot the first time I travelled outside my home country, the Philippines, on the way to my new home down under. I was in Singapore for only 20 hours, an unseasoned traveler who was overwhelmed with the enormity of step I was making.

I Got Scammed Out of $20,000 By a Psychic
Her name was Gin and I thought she was my friend. I know that sounds weird, but it's true. When I first walked into her office, I was a bit lost in my life and I was in need of some guidance. I was greeted by her daughter who came up pretty close to me and started asking me questions. Shortly after, her mother came out and asked me a few questions, as well.

My 1st Date & a glass of Merlot Wine
It was march 21st the 1st day of spring. The sky was dark, thundering and raining. I had just pulled up, got out of my car with my umbrella and keys in hand. A high wind shifted toward my direction. When all of a sudden, I immediately felt a forceful shove. This nearly shook me and left me standing there froze, cold in my tracks. 5:30am I wasn't expecting anyone to be out and about lurking.

Long Live My Embarrassment
The following is one account of the mortifying events that took place at an undisclosed hockey game many years ago. This story has been passed along by others and is now infamous at Pleasant Grove Junior High School – retold every year as a legendary misfortunate incident. The events are typically recanted by a choir teacher, and spreads through the hallways amidst gasps and giggles. Many of those students are not aware that I, Sarah Parson, was right in the middle of it all. This is my story.

The Groundbreaking Part
Friday morning “Please direct your attention to our latest subject. Jessica Johnson, age 29, a computer programmer, who lives alone. It appears that she has been in a romantic comedy vortex for the past couple of days. This sadly is not an isolated incident. Her mother/the person funding this case, Mae Johnson, says that Jessica has been telling her she’s dedicating time to herself” snickered the newest Director of the Should’ve Been Married Already department of Those in Need Inc. “Let’s not laugh, people. I know it is a comical and common excuse, but let’s get back to work. This poor woman is running out of time.”

The Land of Dreams and a Cheater’s Paradise
Four years ago, my life was at its pinnacle. I had recently completed my undergraduate degree with first-class honours, gotten my first managerial job at the age of twenty-two, and I was sure I had met the man I would spend the rest of my life with. I met him at work, and despite my rule of never dating a colleague, I fell for him. We embarked on what seemed to be a beautiful romantic journey. After dating for a while, we opted to move in together. That was my first time living with a man, but it was a seamless transition that prompted me even to introduce him to my dad. My father and I weren't and still aren't very close, so that was also a first. Though I didn't hesitate to tell my friends and family members about him, I hadn't declared our relationship at work. He would pick me up and drop me off half a block away when we commuted together. We would then greet each other at work as though we didn't spend the night wrapped in each other's arms. I felt like a teenager all over again and was undoubtedly having the time of my life.
