Workplace
Sideswiped by Extinction
AI is changing industries and creating new jobs while ending old ones. We’re learning and adapting, and this will continue. It’s a tectonic change, like the creation of fire, the printing press, and the internet. Yet, even while new opportunities are created, some companies will refuse to adapt, risking extinction for the sake of short-term comfort. It reminds me of that time a few decades ago when I lost a job powered by new technology to an industry trying desperately to cling to the status quo.

Beginning Phases
What is life? I have a million ideas at once but just need money to be able to relax and live my life. I just had an idea of if I started a series where I walked up to people and asked what their job was, and their least and favorite thing about the holidays, their cities, America, etc.

Healing F**king Hurts sometimes
As this year comes to a close I am reflecting not only on my year, but also my almost 3 years on Vocal. I reached 1202 reads the other day and I just wanted to thank everyone that has supported me over these last few years. I came to Vocal to journal my life, and things I was going through at the time, and am still going through now. I wish I would have wrote more on here, not just about my life but just about anything and everything. Anyways I just wanted to take time to reflect on a few pieces I've written and make some updates on them. I hope for anyone that might be struggling with any of these topics can find some comfort in not being alone.

The Death of Burlesque
Burlesque’s Tragic Demise In January of 1974, I left my college dorm for the last time and headed for the big city of Rochester, New York to begin my new career. All it took for me to toss my graduation cap into the air and don a sequined G-String was the opportunity to dance my heart out every night and get paid for it. After having danced on Broadway in my mind since I turned five, that was a dream come true.

Just a Little Fever. Content Warning.
It started innocently enough – just a little fever. The kind that makes you think a good night's sleep and a few over-the-counter pills will fix everything. Little did I know that this seemingly insignificant fever would unravel into a series of events that would reshape my perspective on life.

Diner Girl
This idea has been floating around in my head for a while. Have you ever watched the movie, A Cinderella Story? It is a comedy/romance film starring Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray, who is by the way utterly handsome. Released back in 2004, I grew up watching this movie. I always was in love with the idea of love-especially when I was younger. I remember watching it with my mom as a child.
