Actual College Advice, Sans the Clickbait
Most college memes baffle me with how lazy some people are... but then I take a huge bite of some humble pie, and remember that I dropped out of community college during my second year. And guess what, in the seven years in which I searched for jobs in this podunk town, I had about three. I hated them all, and quit embarrassingly quickly. Why is adult life so hard for me? I could have been born and raised without emotional trauma, but nope! Life fucking whipped me with that trauma-coated cat-o'-nine-tails and basted my raw wounds with lemon juice.

Major Guidelines for Writing an English Academic Essay
Writing an essay is generally the most dreaded of all assignments; people find the task of researching for relevant materials just as tedious as writing down the essay. All academic essays follow a basic structure of starting with an introduction, followed by a couple or more paragraphs of details related to the topic, and closing with a conclusion paragraph. Before you start the essay, read the instructions to decide on the structure of the essay—it could be written in the form of a narrative, persuasive, expository or a descriptive essay. Knowing the kind of essay that has to be written helps students to decide the topic and make an outline to highlight its important points.

Losing Passion In today’s education system, it is easy to describe deficiencies in schools. Teachers are working in less than desirable conditions with minimal resources and high expectations. Due to the famine of support public education gets from lawmakers and society in general, education is in a critical position in the US. This lack of support leads to many problems, including overloading and demoralizing teachers, leading to burnout, and the result is our education system losing good teachers. This article is not about taking action to make the appropriate changes that need to be made to shift society’s mindset about public education. Instead, this article is about shifting the mindset of good teachers to help them stay in the classroom until the education system can be fixed.

Assessment Supports and Accessibility for English Language Learners
Abstract In this research study, the author reviews current elementary academic assessment research for English Language Leaners, and affirms the importance of linguistically accessible, valid, and reliable accommodations. Four main articles were used in the research of this study: Hauck, Wolf, and Mislevy (2016), Kopriva, Thurlow, Perie, Lazarus, and Clark (2016), Shim and Shur (2018), and Lin and Zhang (2013). This research study is based on the following hypotheses. First, that allowing student voice and perspective in the classroom is a prerequisite for student-centered learning. Second, ELLs are most commonly behind their native-English peers in academic achievement and assessment scores, thus, their perspective is crucial for their academic development. Through the framework of theories in George Yule’s (2006) The Study of Language, this research study found that although there are current initiatives in place that attempt to provide valid assessments for English Language Learners (ELL), there are modifications that are not utilized that may facilitate greater achievement. This includes focusing on the learner, engaging in a communicative approach, and understanding cultural competency.
