grandparents
Becoming a grandparent makes getting older something to look forward to - all the fun of parenting, without the hassle.
Ganna's Purse
I am standing in the middle of my grandmother's closet staring at a row of purses in varying shades of blue, rose, white and black. Each one matches several pairs of equally varied shoes placed in twos in the shoe holder hanging on the closet door. The dresses hang behind me blending their colors with their matching counterparts, the shoes, and the purses. And the moth-balled must of her old closet comforts me as I free my favorite of all her purses, the tapestry blue, from its wall hook home.

Memories and Life
Bill walked into the bedroom of his small home, slowly making his way to the old dresser that was opposite the bed. A gray lacy cloth covered the top, pictures of he and his wife, children and grandchildren scattered among various keepsakes from a long and happy marriage.

Fire Flies
Fire Flies, how they light up the darkness. To this day when I see them I remember my Grandfather. He was a great fighter pilot in the first world war. As a young boy I would sit with him on the porch as he would tell me of all the times that he nearly died and of those buddies that did, from bullets fired from guns so hot they look like fire flies.
