pop culture
Some pop-culture families incite envy with their picture-perfection, while others make you acutely grateful for the one you're stuck with.
24 Days of Elfmas
Since moving to North America from the UK 11 years ago, I have had to learn to grow accustomed to the subtle little differences compared to life back home. I wouldn't say that I have ever had culture shock, but there are certain things that are different for example, fires on the beach to cook s’mores in the summer (illegal in UK (fires, not s’mores I mean)), S’mores, driving on the right side of the road and going around roundabouts backwards, paying to have a bank account, not having to pay to have a TV, etc etc

Such a Foreign Holiday
These days, I cannot help but laugh when I tell the story of my family’s first Halloween in the United States of America. Then again, these days, according to my Pinterest boards and Instagram feeds, Halloween is no more sinister than tummy aches from too much candy and cute kids in adorable costumes. In 2001, though, less than two months after we’d landed at Newark Liberty International Airport, laughter was the furthest thing from our minds. It was a bleak time for the world and indeed for our family of five.

Moving Towards Positivity. Top Story - August 2022.
Introduction I see a lot of posts and memes that focus on negativity. Often people say they are done with being kind or giving second chances and they will only be happy with taking revenge for some wrong or another. This can even generate hate which is never a good thing. While I can become angry with some events and even people I never let it degenerate into hate because that is a destructive situation and usually I am not in full knowledge of all the facts behind what happened.
