Preparing for a Baby...
From the moment you see that plus sign on that pregnancy test, everything is a whirlwind! Before you know it, the end is in sight and it's nearly your due date. I’m no expert. As a first time mummy to be, I (like everyone else in this position) am just scraping along finding my feet with this whole trying to be as organized as possible thing! Here are my top tips for getting prepared before baby arrives:

Natural Home Birth Story
When I told people that I was planning to have a home birth, I got a lot of bewildered and shocked reactions. "What?! For your first child? No Drugs?!" followed by a very sarcastic sounding "Gooooood luck. You are BRAVE!" I wrote a lot about peoples reactions in my journal, but chose not to share it here because I hadn't given birth yet, and didn't want to jinx anything. Besides, for all I knew, all of my criticizers were right and I would demand drugs and be rushed to a hospital to give birth like the vast majority do.

My Struggle That Turned into a Blessing
It all started as an average day. I stumbled out of bed, showered, got dressed, and headed out for work just like any other day. It wasn't until I was at work, hovering over a stick, in a tiny bathroom filled with hardware, when everything changed. This was the day I found out I was pregnant.

9 Signs Your Baby Is Going to Be Big
During the first few months of your pregnancy, it's difficult to tell exactly what you are having. Until you go in for another ultrasound visit when you're around five to six months, there's a lot that the nurse can tell you, from the gender or whether the baby is developing any form of disability. But can you tell the weight of your baby? It's tough at times, especially when you yourself are picking up a lot of weight. However, the weight of your child can even be determined by your weight.

Bows or Bow Ties?
Waiting is always the hardest part when anticipating anything exciting! In this case, I've been waiting 20 weeks to find out whether or not I'm having a baby boy or a baby girl. Of course, all my friends and family have been making their predictions, and everyone wants to know what I'm hoping for. Like most new moms, I just want a healthy, happy baby. Boy or girl, I have no preference.

Predicaments of a Pregnant Woman
Daily routines can become so mundane, that we don’t even think twice about what we take for granted. Anything and everything we do seems to have convenience factored in. For me, it was the loss of my driving privilege while being pregnant. Talk about a wakeup call. Then again, a good reality check is something we all need from time to time.

Being the Teen Mom
Being in high school is already hard, with the drama, gossip, and making it through the year, but what if you were the pregnant girl. I was the pregnant girl. My senior year started off like any other, the hugs from friends and the worries of who you have as a teacher. I had many friends at the beginning. The people I would go to lunch with and try to sit next to in class. I also had my boyfriend, a handsome young man who girls drooled over. We were together for almost four months until I found out. I was sitting in my room at home, watching the pregnancy test figure out the results. Pregnant. Two pink lines come across the screen. Time seemed to stand still. Oh, what do I do? I thought. I should call my boyfriend. The dial tone seemed rougher than usual. "Hey babe," he said as he picked up the phone.

When I Became a Mum
When I became a mum. I remember the day I bought the test so clearly, walking into the shop, finding the isle where the pregnancy tests were, and just standing there. Standing there looking at all these tests that tell you if you’re pregnant, how far, quick response, and so many more. I saw the cheapest one and picked it up. I didn’t care about all the added bits on the other tests. I just needed to know if I was pregnant.
