Mystery
My Precious Friends
Early morning, the sun just up over the horizon. Its easy at this time, my friends in the barn still lazy. Will have to feed them soon, grass and corn and the like. People always say tending to animals is difficult, but I say bah to them. You just need a little know how, and observation. They aren’t so different to us. As I sip my tea, however, I hear tires screeching up this way. Easy to hear that out here, nearest home is a mile away. A grey sedan, Mary is coming in a hurry. She pulls up to my house fast, I'm almost afraid shell run into me.

Falling in Love with a Ghost
I was walking down a long hallway in an old house, every corner I turned it became a little more narrow, it felt as if I was somehow walking in circles. Then I stumbled upon a small bedroom with a cute little table that seemed to be set up for teatime; the teapot was hot and the pastries looked freshly made, but no one seemed to be around. I sat down to enjoy a cup of tea with a couple of cookies when I felt a heavy, cold hand grab my shoulder followed by a deep voice that said "excuse me, do I know you?". I let out a fearful gasp dropping the small plate of cookies for I didn't know anyone was home and had not heard anyone walk in, with a slight turn of my head I said, "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to barge into your home, I just figured no one was here so I didn't want the tea and pastries to go to waste". As I got up to leave, the man walked over to the other side of the table and sat down, he quietly said, "well, now that we're both here, have a seat". There was something off about this man but I couldn't quite make out what it was, he had pale skin and somber-looking eyes, but he asked me to stay so I did. We sat there for hours talking about his life as if he had lived for several years, the tea never seemed to run out and the stories flowed as much as the tea did; he didn't look to be much older than I but was much more mature than any man I knew. He spoke of events that had occurred in the olden days which seemed quite particular to me, but I never questioned him because I was enjoying his company.

Empty
She had been lying on her side, facing the empty half of her bed. He had stared at her for some time, her parched and withered flesh stretched over shapely bones, fading hair still red and draped over her sunken face like coils of delicate copper thread. Her lips were drawn back over her white teeth. She'd been young.

Dynasty: A Batman Tale
NOW The Gotham Skyline was a magnificent view against both the early morning dawn and fading light of dusk. Commissioner Jim Gordon liked those times best. In fact, while other police commissioners preferred working in daylight, Gordon, the night owl, preferred the dark. That’s when he did his best work. The horizon was painted with sky-scrappers dressed in mirror windowed gowns reflecting the purple and pink hues melting from the darkness of space. In the distance, a fleet of Gotham Police helicopters were circling different areas of the city, shining spotlights up and down the alleyways that made up the labyrinth of Gotham.

Man Up
I had every intention of telling my girlfriend. For months I had convinced myself I would tell her, I just needed to wait for the perfect moment. It was the day after Canada Day, normally people would be shooting off left over fireworks, but the entire week had been plagued by unnatural thunderstorms. Avoiding my reflection in the mirror, I whispered, “I’ll tell her tonight. Like right now.”
