Mystery
The spell that turned land to darkness - Part 1. Content Warning.
The spell that was supposed to save the land from the darkness killed it instead, and the sun was gone forever. At least that was what they told me when they blamed me for the death of the land. They wanted to hang me and leave me there, but the one I least expected to save me arrived at the last possible moment. The one everyone spoke of but didn’t know existed – the myth that was only spoken of in shadows.

The spell that turned land to darkness - Part 2. Content Warning.
Blake. His name, a whisper in my mind. A single word that seemed to rattle the very essence of my beating heart. My bones turned fluid, and I could barely stand, could barely breathe. The air felt drier somehow. I needed to escape this place, but the rope bit into my skin, marring my wrists and making me bleed. I could almost taste the iron on my tongue.

The Book
There was a time when reading bored me to tears. When I was young, my mother would call me over to her and say, “Come sit next to me and I’ll read you a story.” My standard response was either “I want to go out and play,” or “I’m building something with my Legos right now.” As you might imagine, school was twelve arduous years of reprimands, poor test grades, and detentions. Had I not been such a good athlete, I would have never graduated. At least I didn’t graduate at the very bottom of my class; that distinction belonged to Jack. I was next to last.

The Curious case of The Temporal Anomaly.
Sherlock Holmes arrived at King’s Cross Station with precious few minutes to spare. He planned on boarding the 10:17 train to Highbury Street...but he stepped onto the curious new Platform 8.5 with a raised eyebrow. The brass placard looked freshly bolted, the numbering illogical. Even the air felt wrong - a faint scent of hot iron and sagebrush drifting where London fog should have been.

Why?
“Trina! Over here!” Trina turned her head, and her heart threatened to leap out of her chest when she saw Steven waving his arm in a big, exaggerated motion, with a giant smile on his face. Trina fell in love with her boyfriend all over again as she navigated past the clusters of tables towards him. It had only been a few months since they started dating, but Trina was still very much in the honeymoon phase of courtship. The phase where everything that Steven did for her made her feel like she could fly if she just jumped off a chair. The phase where everything Steven said with that bright smile of his made her feel like she was made out of rainbows and sugar.

Untitled
A dark shadow covers the silent, stone-hot city. My boyfriend just kicked me out in the middle of the night with all my belongings. I take a few steps down the urine-stinking street and collapse onto a bench. With nowhere to go, I still sit here, waiting.

Chrome Hearts
The cowboy hat draped over one eye was black leather, scuffed and worn, like it’d seen some things, but the leg peeking through the lace slit of her skirt was brand new, chrome plated titanium, fastened together with countersunk bolts. Whoever she was, she was special. Or used to be.
