Quantum Stills of a Thin-Spun Life - Part 3
Back in the habs again, Dre-jin anchored himself with one foot on a torn locker hinge, bent over at the waist, his breath cutting into his throat as he attempted to draw air in, expel it out. His posture wasn’t helping, it just felt like a natural thing to do. Natural?! A cynical laugh itched at his windpipe, but his didn’t have enough breath for it to emerge, so it just added to the hurt.

The Dead Zoo: Edmontosaurus
Dinosaurs are always changing. Even if bones have been pieced together and reconstructed in more or less in their present configurations for decades now, studies of those bones and additional fossils are continuing to alter what we think the “terrible lizards” looked like. And while I’m all in favor of new investigations bringing us dinosaurs in greater detail than ever before, I have to admit that sometimes science makes old favorites look a little… silly.

The Third Industrial Revolution
When the first Industrialized Revolution unfolded the fuel that ushered in a new found way of life was all based on fossil fuels. The gluttony that followed in the fervor frenzy of drilling and mining that ensued only created an environmental catastrophe of epic proportions today. Yet in the United States most of our government is in a state of denial that our industrial infrastructure that by the way is built all off of fossil fuels is the cause of all the environmental impact that global warming is having all around the globe. The continuing onslaught of more natural disasters which have been occurring more frequently with each passing year is a direct result of mans interference with the natural balance on this planet.

The Climate Change Reversal Project
By the time the sun reached its apex the temperature was well on its way to reach the predicted high of 118 degrees. For Sydney, Australia, another day of record-setting temperatures. Over three-fourths of the world's population has already been evacuated because of rising sea levels. For years now scientists have been warning about rising seas and yet too many political leaders scoffed at the idea of man-induced climate change. But now, faced with global devastation that is unprecedented in modern times it just maybe too late for Mother Earth. The human race is now on the verge of extinction. All over the world for the past few years there continues to be record-setting temperatures. Places like Seattle, Washington and even London, England have seen days on end where the temperatures have reached 110 degrees or higher. Compounding the massive heat waves, the world is witnessing increasing violent hurricanes and typhoons. Never before in recent history has the world been thrust into such an inferno.

The Dead Zoo: Stegosaurus
Stegosaurus means “roofed lizard.” I never really understood why. The trundling herbivore bore an offset row of bony, triangular plates along the midline of its back, but this arrangement didn’t really look like a roof so much as a series of sails. Whether trying to keep off the rain or provide a barrier to serrated teeth, the plates didn't look like a very effective awning.

Oasis
Webster defines an Oasis as a fertile tract of land that occurs in a desert wherever a permanent supply of fresh water is available. In the universe an Oasis is a planet that has all the elements necessary to support life. It is impossible not to fathom that there are other planets our scientists term are in habitable zones making them an Oasis in the vast cosmos of space. For thousands of years man has looked up into the heavens and asked the eternal question are we alone or are there brothers of man somewhere out there far beyond our own know realm of reality inhabiting another Oasis?

A man generates billions or so spermatozoa during his "active" lifetime. In the same time, a female ovary releases a strictly limited number of eggs (around 400). Despite the contrast in productivity each sex contributes exactly the same amount of genetic material to the next generation. It is an uncomfortable truth that the main biological role of males is to manufacture vast quantities of sperm to fulfill a genetic function that the other gender accomplishes much more efficiently
