My Life...My Own
by: Dennis R. Humphreys The world had changed drastically since Taylor heard his father talk about ihis changing world when he was a child... back before then. Politically, economically, socially... nothing was as it was. Those born into it didn't know it. They knew nothing else but the feeling of uselessness and hopelessness which abounded, this was not natural. Men dictating to men what they do, and how they do it... controlling every aspect of your life. It's unnatural. While those living in such conditions may not have fully understood its ramifications, they did understand the underlying feelings that dark cloud that hovers on the horizon, and the feelings of nothingness imposed on the human soul.

Genesis 2.3-c
She looked out the window into space, holding a small vase over her arms where a single rose was planted. "It should happen right at the middle there," she thought. As she waited, her gaze rested on the plant she cradled on her arms. She fidgeted the ground right under the rose to reveal the gold coin she had buried this morning alongside its roots. On the coin was minted “2.3-c”.

The Obelisk
As far back as memory will afford me, I know only two things; the Obelisk and that I am compelled to climb it. A tower of cold black obsidian-like night bereft of pale moonlight. Spanning acres, puncturing the grey rain clouds above and emerging from dark, vast waters below. Waters that ebbed and crashed and roared with shocks of white sea spray defining each wave and ever-rising with incessant downpour. The Obelisk is both my port in the storm and a prison.

Titaness
‘She’s out there again,’ Maria said. Julien sat at the table behind her as she looked out of the large, semi-circular window that occupied one side of the room. Their apartment sat atop a towering, cylindrical block that droned quietly each day as it worked hard to mimic Earth’s gravity within. It sat near the centre of activity on Saturn’s satellite, Titan, and Maria was not able to shake the feeling of being always on display.

Planet of Scars
Here is my outline for the story I have been working on for the past 5 years. There is a group of the most powerful, elite people and they become very jaded and overcome by bloodlust. They slowly brainwash people by enforcing the belief that they are their own gods, capable to do everything by their lonesome. By that same measure, they are also aware that in a world full of isolated gods, there can be no real comradery- no common decency in the end game, because how would 2 or more gods share power? How would they all inflict their decisions upon all the other people who are ALSO their own gods?
