Not_Artificial, Act I
The room was dark as Devaughn stared at his code for the millionth time. This was perhaps a bit of hyperbole, but only barely. He just needed it to be perfect. There was no longer any room for error as today was officially the day he and Elle had to present their magnum opus.

Geo-fencing: the powerful move for upcoming years
Geo-fencing allows app or other platform/software developers to send messages like SMS, email, in-app / based notification/activation, etc. via GPS, RFID, Wi-Fi, or cellular data. Location-based services. Applications in which a mobile device is geographically moved or parked (planned proactive actions). You can select and mark geographic areas on the map and place digital fences around them. This "fence" zone can now detect and communicate with mobile devices that enter it. With geo-fencing, you can reach your audience in new ways and increase your profits to record levels. This is because geofence marketing advertises to users based on their location, and you can set it to 1000 square feet. Geo-fencing ads may contain promotional information such as booking discounts and invitations in your area. For example, if you've set up a geo-fence location at a competitor's location, you can send an offer to couples for a free sample meal.

The Importance of Precision in Language
It is generally accepted that for a machine to considered ‘intelligent’ and therefore classified as having ‘artificial intelligence’ it is only required to have a tiny fraction of the ‘intelligence’ of a human being. Nowhere that I have been able to find is this fraction quantified, nor is it suggested how such a thing is to be measured. It is difficult to quantify and measure something which we do not even agree what it is so I can’t be too hard on the AI crowd on that point. However I can and will continue to be hard on the use and abuse of the term and never stop calling out people who use it incorrectly, illogically, incoherently, and/or inappropriately.

The Node
He was long on The Node now, long enough for it to feel normal. To have accepted it. To have integrated it into his patterns. The ever changing litany of data smeared together with his subconscious. Perpetually flowing at the back of his mind, as if feeding an inarticulate hunger, ever feeding but never filling. Honestly, it had disconcerted him how easily the two had melded. At times he had wondered where The Node began and his own thoughts ended.

Day 1 Business is even slower this week than last. It’s the start of the rainy quarter, and no one wants to splash through the market, let alone stroll through leisurely enough to see her stall. Besides, the paper would just get wet when she handed it over anyway, and it’s not like the stuff grows on trees anymore.
