LEGO Minecraft The Lush Cave Fight Polybag Set 30705 Review
A LEGO Minecraft Theme Set Review

Today we will be taking a closer look at the LEGO Minecraft The Lush Cave Fight set number 30705. This set came out in 2025, has 40 pieces, and was designed for people 5 and up.

LEGO created a simple story for this polybag set. Alex is using her diamond sword to battle a skeleton armed with a bow in a lush cave. This small polybag would be the first time LEGO had a lush biome be the main environment for a Minecraft themed set. While this is a nice sample of the temperate cave found below humid biomes, I hope this leads to larger sets that focus on these environments containing unique fauna and flora found within the Minecraft game.
Alex

As the most popular playable female character in the game, the Alex minifigure is used in a lot of LEGO Minecraft sets. This particular minifigure with reddish brown legs, sand green shirt and orange hair is the most common figure used by LEGO. I love the way oliver green is used to create her pixelated collar and we can see her orange hair hanging down the front and back. It’s details like that and her dark green belt that make these pieces stand out. Alex’s green eyes and orange hair on the head piece are instantly recognizable as belonging to the character. It is amazing how such a simple design can still be used to create something unique and memorable. Alex is wielding a medium azure pixelated sword to fight the Skeleton found in the lush cave. Even though diamond swords are rare in the game, LEGO has created more medium azure Minecraft swords, than any other color. I guess if you're going to be building your own LEGO Minecraft world, you might as well give yourself the second most high tiered sword in the game.
Skeleton

With Zombies and Skeletons being the first hostile mobs released in Minecraft, it is no surprise that the Minecraft Skeleton minifigure is a common enemy included in Minecraft themed sets. LEGO uses the same legs, arms and torso found on their standard skeleton minifigures. The cube head with black eyes, light bluish grey nose and black mouth is what makes this a Minecraft Skeleton. The reddish brown, pixelated bow with an arrow drawn was created for the Minecraft series. This bow has been around since Minecraft sets first began to include minifigures back in 2014. Almost every skeleton minifigure is equipped with this weapon. Since it is their primary attack in the game and their arrows are an important resource for players to collect, it makes sense to use this piece a lot.
The Lush Cave

The best part of the lush cave model is that you get to build so many different types of Minecraft plants on a small 4X6 dark blue base. On top of this water are sand blue 2X4 and 2X2 bricks that are used for the cave’s clay surroundings. Two bright green 2X2 flower plants with angular petals are assembled under and a 2X4 green brick overhang to look like a large vine growing down. On top of this vine is a sand green 1X1 brick with 2 studs on opposite sides. These side studs have 1X1 bright light orange round tiles attached to represent glow berries. The cave is covered in green and bright green pieces to simulate moss growing all over the place. At the top we can see 5 medium lavender 1X1 round 5 petal flowers. This adds some nice color to this lush environment. My favorite part of this build is the large folding dripleaf growing on the side, so our hero can parkour in her fight against the skeleton. This dripleaf is built with a green 1X2 plate with a closed end bar handle attached to a bright green barholder with clip. This allows the plant leaf to tilt like it does in game play. The barholder is held to the set by a dark green 1X1 round tile with a bar and small pin hole. To add more texture to the leaf, 2 bright green 1X1 round extended half circle pieces are put onto the top of the plate.
Final Thoughts

This polybag is a great example of what makes LEGO such an amazing product. We don’t get any rare pieces, all the parts have been in production for a while and the build techniques are not overly complicated. However, we get to create several different Minecraft plants and it comes with 2 minifigures. It offers a great sample of what people can expect from larger Minecraft themed sets. You get a great looking model and it offers fun play options for younger builders.
