The Lift Boy(2019)- Review
The Lift Boy is a drama film taking us through a period of 24-year-old Raju Tawde's (Moin Khan) life. Raju is a happy-go-lucky young adult without much worry and no plans for the future. With this carefree attitude, Raju has flunked his exams a few times and so is yet to graduate. On a normal day, he finds himself in an unsavory situation after his father suffers a heart attack. His father works as a lift operator in a building. With him not being in a state to fulfill his duties, Raju is told to be the proxy and fill-in for his ill father for the near future. Raju reluctantly goes to 'work' without much any worry or concern. While working as the Lift boy, he comes across many people living in the building and even befriends a few. Among the residents of the building resides Maureen D'Souza (Nyla Masood) who is also the owner of the building. In the coming few weeks the two form an uncommon friendship which further flourishes when Maureen assists Raju with his upcoming examinations.

To Watch or Not To Watch
I’m always wondering what to look at next. Whilst I enjoy watching movies, I’m more of a TV series person. Remote schooling, general housework, cooking dinner and writing means I have enough energy to watch a 25 to 43min television show otherwise the episode becomes part of my dreams. I see myself as a hummingbird when it comes to watching a program. I’ll happily flit from one show to another, discovering new characters or revisiting old ones. I won’t necessarily watch one because it’s popular – you know Game of Thrones or Bridgerton - in fact I tend to shy away from them until the hype dies down. Not one for always conforming I guess.

If you like What We Do in the Shadows, then you'll love...
Jermaine Clement’s ‘What We Do in the Shadows’ should not work: it's a mockumentary about the domestic challenges of being a modern day vampire. The characters spend their time hunting for virgins, negotiating with local necromancers, holding occultist seances and avoiding deadly sunlight. It doesn't scream 'multi-Emmy nominated success'. In fact, it's hard to work out who the target audience is... Count von Count?
