The Don of Avon: Scarface Bill Shakespeare
Once the winter of their homeland’s discontent was made glorious summer by treaties and merry meetings, one man (who wasn’t shaped for sportive tricks, nor made to court an amorous looking glass) was determined to prove a villain and hate the idle pleasures of such days. In Shakespeare’s Medieval England, such a man was the hunchbacked King Richard III, and in Howard Hughes’ 1920’s America, it was the mafioso Antonio “Tony” Camonte. The purpose of this essay is to analyze the mythical monster and sociopath that is Shakespeare’s “Richard of Gloucester” and Howard Hughes’ cinematic adaptation of Al Capone (Tony Camonte) to further emphasize how such villainous figures at face value are in fact tragic figures, who fall from grace by means of greed, ambition, and the shedding of blood; and ultimately embrace their appropriate fates by the sword of justice.

John Boyega Pitching an 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' Show He Wants to Star In
Avatar: The Last Airbender is not just one of the most beloved animated series of all time, but arguably one of the most beloved TV shows of all time. With wonderful humor, an engaging storyline, pitch-perfect characters, and a nearly flawless collection of episodes, it set the benchmark for what animated television storytelling could be. Some would argue that it has not yet been matched, let alone less exceeded.

Casting Begins on 'Game of Thrones' Spinoff
It is no secret that the ending of, Game of Thrones, one of the best TV shows of all time, was controversial, to say the least. There likely has not been as much astronomical hype for the ending of a TV show than there was for Game of Thrones. With some of the best TV moments of all time such as The Red Wedding, The Battle of the Bastards, and the fate of Ned Stark, some wondered whether the ending could live up to any of the hype the show had created over the course of the preceding eight years.

Clark Gregg Wants Phil Coulson To Reunite With The Avengers
Depending on how long you have been a Marvel Cinematic Universe fan, you may remember the heartbreak that we experienced in the summer of 2012 when Clark Gregg's beloved character, Phil Coulson, suffered a tragic death at the hands of Loki in The Avengers. Now, years have passed, and Phil Coulson has continued to endear himself to Marvel fans everywhere. However, all good things come to an end, with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. being on its final season.

First Impressions of Peacock, the Newly Launched Streaming Service from NBCUniversal
Last Wednesday, July 15, NBCUniversal launched its own streaming service, Peacock, which offers over 200,000 hours of content. When the name was first announced, it was the subject of much ridicule. On top of that, avid subscribers of Netflix were unhappy that some of their favorite shows such as The Office (US) would be taken off of Netflix in January 2021 so that they could be exclusive to Peacock. In the age of streaming services, some consumers even feel that there are too many, with the launch of HBO Max on May 27 being fairly recent.

Top 10 Most Picturesque Movie Settings
A gorgeous setting can make a movie so much better. Lots of John Wayne movies aren’t amazing plot- or dialogue-wise, but I sure love seeing the country backdrops. Cast Away (2000) was pretty boring, but that tropical paradise sure was something, wasn’t it? All a good setting has to do is catch your attention, either with its beauty, its originality, or its boldness.

Next Batman Movie Will No Longer Shoot On Location
Months of being thrown down the drain and we finally have some more information on Matt Reeves' The Batman, which has been given a brand new production start date as long as it is no longer filmed on location. What does this actually mean? Well, when production gets the wheel rolling again, it will no longer be at a central location while filming. Instead, the film will be shot on brand new sets or stages in London, England. Matt Reeves was announced to be directing the new trilogy just last year and has gone on to cast Robert Pattison as the enigmatic playboy Bruce Wayne. Due to the pandemic, along with other smaller setbacks, the film is not set to released in theaters until late 2021.

The Bravery Of Drag Queens
Before I get into the heart of what I'm writing, I have to say one thing: drag queens are incredibly brave. Drag queens in particular are oftentimes members of the LGBTQ+ community - there are bioqueens, among others, who have explored the art that is being a drag queen, and are oftentimes males who might be confronted with extreme prejudice or even violence. Like most instances of discrimination and prejudice, this is incredibly painful to confront and witness, let alone go through. Like many members of the LGBTQ+ community, drag queens have had a history with their loved ones which may have meant cutting ties with family and friends, struggles with alcohol and drugs, and struggles with their mental health. To continue to live their truth and perform on stage night after night in spite of all the challenges they might encounter and go through is a testament of the courage they've had to muster to get through their lives.
