The voice that calls me.. Part 2
Wait and watch - “When will you be back from work?” (Venus) is not accustomed to asking me this question except when she is intending to go out, so that she returns before me, because she knows that I cannot bear her not being at home when I arrive!

Elle Woods and the Realities of Justice: Why Legally Blonde Still Matters
This evening, as we prepare for our internships in different places, I found myself watching Legally Blonde (and Legally Bonde 2!) with my friends. As an elder Gen Z, I feel it’s my responsibility to introduce them to the best chick flicks of 2004. My friends, who come from Myanmar, have often remarked on how this movie, released in 2001, still feels so fresh and relevant. They’ve noted how impressive the technology looks compared to films they’ve seen, perhaps because they haven’t experienced many Hollywood productions; Asia has its own thriving film industry and beloved favorites.

Past Lives . Top Story - October 2024.
I watched this movie on the plane from Rome to New York almost a year ago. I started writing this story by getting the image, putting in the title and the first sentence. However, I never got around to actually writing it up until this week when in my Intercultural Communication course I used the movie clip as an illustration of non-verbal communication in different cultures. Geek Chic
The roots of geek culture can be traced back to the mid-20th century, when science fiction literature, comic books, and early computer technology began to capture the imaginations of young enthusiasts. These early adopters formed tight-knit communities, often meeting in basements or garages to share their passions and discoveries. Despite being marginalized by mainstream society, these geeks laid the groundwork for the cultural revolution that would follow.

The Untold Story of Sir Isaac Newton: Genius, Alchemist, and the Secrets He Kept
Introduction Sir Isaac Newton is often celebrated as one of the most brilliant minds in history. His contributions to science and mathematics fundamentally altered humanity's understanding of the universe. His achievements earned him a place among the most influential people in history, ranking just behind Jesus Christ in the book The 100, published in 1978. Newton was a legend in his own time, knighted by Queen Anne in 1705 and became the first scientist buried in Westminster Abbey—a final resting place typically reserved for royalty. However, behind the accolades and achievements lies a darker side of Newton's legacy that is seldom discussed: his involvement in secretive and controversial research that could have altered his legacy forever.
