The Holy Quartet of Cure-All Romantic Comedies
Ah, fall. The temperatures are dropping, the pumpkin spice merch is consuming the racks, and seasonal depression is beginning to rear its ugly head. When the weather gets cold and the Instagram “‘Falling’ in love with you gets better every day <3’ Caucasian-catalogue-couple posts begin to filter in, where does one turn? The answer rests not in sensible, emotionally-sustainable options like exercise or therapy, but in the mindless, heartwarming comforts of your late 90s-early 2000s romantic comedies.

10 of the 21st Century’s Biggest Box-Office Bombs
Amid reports in August, The Oscars announced a new category of ‘Best Popular Film’ to its line-up of honors for the 91st Academy Awards. The response to the announcement was a loud uproar of negativity suggesting that the new category is pandering to mainstream demands and tarnishing the purpose of the ‘Best Picture’ Category itself. Earlier this month the Academy postponed the initiation of the ‘Popular Film’ category into the Oscar ceremony, and the future of this award remains indefinite.

Top 5 Second Films in a Speculative Fiction Trilogy
Since The Empire Strikes Back released in theaters, second films in movie trilogies have been some of the most remembered pieces of cinema or the worst. But how come? How can we definitively say the original Star Wars wouldn't have ended with two films instead of three? It didn't happen, but why is the second film more critically successful than the finale, arguably the most popular part of any story? Why are so many second films hailed to be the best of the series, especially when the middle is considered the slowest component and often a victim of lousy sequel syndrome? Looking at you Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Bad Theatre Etiquette
Since a young age I've been fascinated with the theatre. The idea that you can be transported, emotionally, to another world without even leaving your seat enthralls me. And I find it so hard then, once I'm encapsulated, to think about anything other than this masterpiece in front of me.

Must-See Underrated Movies
There are movies that are widely promoted, highly anticipated, and largely grossing in the box office. Then there are all the other ones. So rare is it that a common person who isn't obsessed with movies knows of any films that haven't made the biggest impression at the theaters, if any at all. I set out to change this because more often than not, I've found, the underrated and non-publicized movies are some of the best I have ever seen.

Why Are You Ranking: The American Dream as Described by Twentieth and Twenty-first Century Artists Listed from Hallucination to Fantasy
Why is there no Scottish Dream? Is it because it’s already a cocktail? Why is there no French Dream? Would that be too risqué? And a German Dream may have already been a nightmare. These are but a few of the nations that serve as examples of how only one country originated and still upholds this obtainable vision; it’s called the American Dream. Often, the definition of the American Dream vacillates amongst different sectors of the United States. In some regions, it’s all about finding out who you are as a person and enjoying the bountiful Land of Plenty.

Top 10 Marvel Cinematic Universe Movies
10. 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' The sequel to the first and superb film, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 picks up not that long after the first. We meet our group of unlikely heroes on a planet, fighting a giant octopus-like alien (couldn’t get any better right?), and, due to Rocket’s kleptomania, the gang finds themselves in deep trouble with Ayesha the High Priestess of the Sovereign. Along the way, they meet a pretty important figure from Peter’s past; you could almost say someone like family.

Five Shows That Ended Too Soon
I've finished a number of shows recently, gone to see when the next season came out, and been horrified to see they've been cancelled. There are so many great shows that get cut before they really get a chance to shine, so many characters who don't get developed like they should, and so many plots undiscovered. Very few shows that end too soon get a good chance to wrap up the series in a miniseries event or movie and even if they get that chance it's not the same and almost never satisfactory. I've made a list of five shows that I personally think deserved a better wrap up.
