Twelfth Night
The Twelfth Night is one of William Shakespeare’s masterpieces, also called “As You Like It,” a satirical comedy play written by Shakespeare around 1602 AD.
The play tells the story of a brother and his twin sister, Sebastian and Viola, who are so similar to each other that if they wear the same clothes, no one can separate them. Only a few passengers were among them Viola, who searched for her brother but did not find him, so she thought that he was dead and began to weep for the loss of her brother.
But the captain told her that he saw him tying himself in a strong sail, and the wave carried him away, and she calmed down and began to think about what she would do alone. Then the captain told her that he knew the Duke of Orsino, the ruler of Illyria, and that the Duke loved a beautiful noble lady named Olivia, but that lady had died her brother, so she forced herself into mourning and refused to meet the men. And that the Duke has since become very sad and does nothing but listen to the sad poems.
So Viola asked the master to introduce her to Olivia to be her assistant, but he told her that it was difficult to reach her, so Viola thought to work for the help of the Duke himself, but she told the master that she would disguise herself in men's clothes first, and indeed she called herself Cesario and became the assistant of the Duke and soon he approached her and began to reveal to her With all his secrets as the boy Cesario.
And he was talking to her all the time about how much he loved Olivia, but the Duke's talks made Viola fall in love with him and envious Olivia of the Duke's love for her. Because he is soft-spoken and will express to her in such a way that she will feel the Duke's love for her.
When Cesario went to Olivia, she fell in love with him immediately, and revealed her face to him after she vowed not to lift the black veil from over her face because of her grief, and she sent him a diamond ring as a gift with one of her servants. Olivia.
When the time found out that Olivia had agreed to meet Cesario, he felt that there was hope that she would agree to marry him, so he sent him again, but this time Olivia told him that she liked him, and when he left her palace, one of the knights who also loved Olivia learned that Cesario was competing with him for Olivia's love, so he stopped him He asked him to fight him.
Viola was afraid because she had a sword, but she did not know how to fencing and she was too weak to fight this knight, but at that moment a man she did not know came and defended her and hit the knight and asked her to give him his bag of money, but Viola did not know what the bag of money meant so she took out all the money she was carrying And she gave it to him, but he revolted and at the same time the police came and arrested him while he was accusing Viola of ingratitude and denial.
After Viola left frightened, she appeared again in the field shortly after, so the knight returned to fight with her, but this time she beat him, and at the same time a messenger came from Olivia's house asking Viola (Cesario) to enter, and in fact it was not Viola who fought this time But it is Sebastian, who escaped death at the hands of the man who rescued Viola from the knight, and became his friend and gave him his bag of money to carry with him, but Sebastian came out and was late, and a friend worried about him, so he went out to look for him, although he had a previous prison sentence in Illyria, so the police arrested him.
When Sebastian entered Olivia's house, he was surprised that she was offering him marriage as if she knew him, so he agreed because she is a beautiful and intelligent lady, even though he did not understand anything of her talk, and indeed she brought a priest and married him immediately, and at that moment the Duke had decided to go to Olivia himself and with his assistant Cesario, And Sebastian had gone to spend some needs, so the Duke met Sebastian's friend, who complained to Duke Cesario, who had saved him from drowning and was kind to him and had been his best friend for the past three months, but in the end he denied his favour and took his money. Cesario realised that his brother is still alive.
Olivia came out to save her husband from the Duke's hand and told him that she had married him, the Duke was very angry and told Cesario that he would kill him, but Cesario (Viola) told the Duke that he could take anything from the Duke, and he left behind his motorcade, Olivia was surprised by her husband and went after him screaming And at that moment Bastian appeared and the truth became clear to everyone, so the Duke decided to marry Viola, who was his assistant Cesario, because she had told him repeatedly in the past that she loved him, and so the twins got married on the same day.
