The Haunting of Bly Manor Review
The Haunting of Hill House was an intense, scary series that brought chills down your spine not knowing if the bent-necked lady were to appear or not. The sub plots were intriguing and the house brought a sense of mystery because you weren't sure what dead soul was lurking around the next corner. I kow what you're thinking, this isn't a review for Bly Manor, but it is. I just wanted to express the difference between both seasons.

The Official Guide to Huluween
Hello Folks! I'm back at it with another list of spooky tv shows that I think will get you in the mood for Halloween...or, if you're like me, all year long. I'm going to be honest, there are WAY more tv shows on Huluween than Netflix. No tea, no shade, I love me some Netflix and this might be the other way around when I cover movies but I found so much good content when exploring Hulu.

The Haunting of Bly Manor (Netflix TV Show Review)
When one thinks of a haunting, a few things that typically come to mind are mist on a lake with a mansion in the background, or the sight of Norman Bates' big Victorian house with Norman standing at the top of the hill with a kitchen knife in his hand. Stephen Kings' "The Shining," a cursed hotel filled with the ghosts of people who died there, is also a great example.

100 Horror Movies in October: Update One
We're almost halfway through spooky month (although let's be honest it's 2020 so it's spooky year *laughs then cries*). I have seen many posts about the '31 days of horror' challenge which is fun but a few years ago I found what was basically that challenge on steroids: watch 100 horror movies in October. I've tried and failed several times before but now I know there's a horror community here on Vocal I thought I would document my failings for this year, and review the best and worst.

The Walking Dead: 6 Best Moments In 10x16, 'A Certain Doom'
After a long, anxious wait, fans have finally seen The Walking Dead's season 10 finale, 'A Certain Doom'. The finale was pulled from it's original airdate earlier this year after COVID-19 restrictions kept the visual effects and editing from being completed on time. Thankfully, it was well worth the wait.

The Haunting of Hill House
This month many people will be looking for that truly terrifying movie to watch when the lights are out. There is no shortage of contenders. Films set under the sea that build claustrophobic fears, slashers based on true events, and all manner of ghosts and monsters.

Review of 'Utopia'
Just what we needed, right? A series about a virus that's spreading quickly from city to city -- and killing children no less? And the plot hinges on a hyped vaccine that may not be effective at all? So, yeah, Utopia on Amazon Prime is all of that and more, and at the worst possible time. But maybe at the best possible time, because I found first season of this series really enjoyable and binge-watched all eight of its episodes yesterday.

Review of 'The Platform'
Parables come in all kinds of platforms. The Platform, a Spanish film with English subtitles now on Netflix, is a story about the essence of humanity tested to its very limits. That’s a worthy parable, to say the least. Unfortunately, this movie’s unique way of telling it is disgusting, in the literal sense of that word. The question is: was that kind of stomach-turning story necessary to convey such a crucial message?

Review of 'Into the Night'
In the old days, they used to have something called B-movies. They were intended to accompany the A-movie, the main attraction, in the double features that played in neighborhood movie houses, before television came along and ate their lunch and closed them down. Many of those B-movies were quite enjoyable, but they weren’t exactly Oscar material. I don’t think there were any B-television shows, certainly none on cable and none on Netflix, Amazon video, and other streaming services. But if ever there were a streaming television series that felt like a B-movie – in this case, a six-episode movie serial – it would be Into the Night, which went up on Netflix in May 2020.
