The Truth
Once upon a time I was in a creative writing class in college. Our task was to create a character and write an inner monologue. I chose someone from a novel I was developing. Sitting here, going through some of my things, I realize it's not something I will ever use. Admittedly, it's not my best piece of writing, but I did put some heart into it and wanted to share this bit.

Square One
The feeling of heartbreak is like a tightening in the chest that won't go away. It's like the feeling of vomit constantly at the back of your throat, it's like sleeping through classes/work/appointments. Heartbreak in my opinion is another word for excruciatingly painful depression. I used to be in love; head over heels in love with who I thought was the most amazing person I had ever met. I never felt sadness or pain, I was finally understood, I finally felt secure. The best analogy I could give is when it's the middle of August in Florida, so hot you can barely move, but you take your first sip of an ice cold glass of lemonade and it's pure bliss. Weird analogy, but this was the most refreshing thing I'd ever felt and I thought, "How could something like this ever go wrong?"

Coffeeshop Encounter
It was a cool winter morning. A light drizzle was coming down as I began to contemplate what the purpose of my anxiety was. As a custom for every new adventure, I ask myself why fear seems to be present. In most cases, I find just a natural response to my state of being, living with the awareness of all the chaos that fluctuates throughout the days of all who come to exist.

The Time a Stranger Asked me for Boy Advice on a Bus
This is a tale that tells about the single most social thing that has happened to me whilst traveling at 18. On an about five or six hour bus ride, a girl just randomly asked me for boy advice. Here's some context:

How You Can Survive a Long Distance Relationship
So you have found yourself in a relationship with your significant other further away than you would like. Whether it be the next city over, or half-way around the world, distance is never fun, especially when you are apart from the one you love. I already know you want to make it work, because you wouldn't have kept the relationship going if you didn't already love the person. But how can you keep on "dating" your lover when there is distance separating you.

Her Lips
As I walked, I ran my fingertips over the smooth, glazed wood that defined the bar. The sound of drunken chatter and soft laughter was faded into the background as the constant clink of glasses slammed into my ears. The restaurant was dim, as if all the colours of the sun had weakened and were slowly slipping away.

Why Do People Cheat?
So, my question for today is, 'why do people cheat?' If you have ever cheated on someone, physically or emotionally, then you may not want to read this because I will basically be tearing you a new one. Why do you cheat? You obviously did like this person, so what compelled you to one day wake up and say, 'wow, I am going to cheat on my significant other today." The logic within cheating is very confusing and very immature. I think the most humane way to find someone else is to break up with the person you are seeing and find someone; don't stay with the person because it will only make you look like a complete piece of trash and nobody will trust you once they find out. Simple. If you lose feelings for the person you are seeing, just end it. Don't carry it on because, like I said, people will get hurt and you're just leading them on. It's unnecessary pain that can easily be solved.

Is It Even Possible to End Bullying?
What’s happened to get me thinking - My beloved grandad passed in the summer of 2016, he was the epitome of a gentle giant. The kindest of souls. He would do anything for his family, his grandkids especially. I can remember at least 5 occasions during my forgetful teenage years when he would have to make the 40-minute round trip to let me into my house because I had ‘mislaid’ (aka, left in my going out-out clutch) my keys. Yet he did it, maybe with a tiny grumble and suggestion that I get just one “sensible” bag, a notion I’m still trying to get my head around… ONE bag? SENSIBLE?! It wasn’t just acts like this that made him a hero, his true heroism came to light after his passing, as we learnt how much he did for my Nan, how much he shielded from us.

Signs He Isn't Into You
I was blessed with a nice body, and looked like I was sixteen when I was only twelve. I was quite proud of my body, and the older I got, the more fixated I was on it. I was whistled at, hooted at, stared at, and all of it only made me flaunt what I had more. After four failed marriages, and several live in relationships, I can honestly say that the best body isn't always the key to happiness. So many of the men I was with were with me because I had a nice body, and when the fascination wore off, so did their interest.

My Love
It all started with a smile and a hug. I remember looking into your beautiful hazel eyes, they shimmered like diamonds in bright light. You were oh so beautiful, like no one I had ever seen before. You pulled me close and with my head against your chest, all I could hear was your heartbeat. I fell in love with you the moment that I met you. You made me that happiest I had ever been, but we were only strangers. We were cruising around, it was a warm sunny day in California, I had the beautiful view of clear skies and tall palm trees, the wind flowing through my hair, but all I could focus is on was your breathtaking smile. That day I knew you were all I was missing.
