The Promise
It was a rainy Friday morning. James woke up and rapidly initiated the process which he went through every morning to get ready for school. James ate breakfast with his parents, who then took him to his school where he’d spend about five to six hours of his day. After school, his parents would pick him up and take him back home. Once at home, James ate dinner, did all of his homework, and played his brand new video game for precisely one hour. He then ate dinner with his mom, Linda, and studied the bible with his father, Matthew, who was a pastor. That was James’ weekly routine.

Guarded: The Story that Messed Me Up for Years
It all started over a year ago when my boyfriend, Peter, broke up with me. This was a very, very hard time for me. He and I remained friends, which wasn't a bad thing. During this break up… LITERALLY a few days after, if that, another guy messaged me, Collin. I already knew this guy because he was Peter’s friend from church. I had met him in the past and we DID NOT get along… at all. He was a jerk. He was horrible and even just thinking about it makes me almost cry. He would do and say things to me that would make me break down. It got to the point where my family saw how much it was hurting me, and I was not allowed to be in the same room or even building as him. He was AWFUL. However, looking back on it, after every tease or remark, he would look at me like he knew something. Anyways, back to the story.

He Saved My Life and Ruined It at the Same Time
I only talked to Andrew once. My English teacher split the class into groups of four and told us to discuss a chapter from Frankenstein. Andrew spoke last; it was the first time I had ever seen him do anything in class other than sleep on his desk. His voice was low, and his words were mushed together so that I had to concentrate hard to pick apart the words. Amanda and Greg, the other two in our group, gave up after a while, but I continued to listen.

Nightmares and True Love
"You died today. My blurred eyes were watching you go down into that last resting place. Our kids were screaming for you. I could hear the pain as they called out your name. All I could do was cry silently and stand there lovingly embracing them — I have been keeping them together, for my sake. Do you see us?

Maybe I Thought We Had Something More Than We Did
I have soo much to write, I just don't know where to start. Should I start with my best friend who I thought might have feelings for me the way I did him? Maybe I should talk about how my new friend is just too good to be true, so good that the thought of him even a little interested in me is a joke! Well I suppose I should start about how I got myself in this, and how this seems to be a loop of how my "friendships" go.

How to Listen to Others
When someone needs your support, sometimes it is hard to know how to help and you can do more harm than good. Of course, you have good intentions but it can be difficult to know what to say when a person is pouring their life story out to you and you are completely unprepared. Consider this your guide.
