When I Dated a Rock Star
One night in LA my current boyfriend at the time and myself drove out to a local alternative club on Cherokee Ave. It's mostly an underground scene for a certain type of crowd. He was DJing that night. My boyfriend went to grab me a drink from the bar as we arrived. I watched all the people enjoying themselves on the dance floor. I saw him he was playing a personal set on his mac. We walked around and checked out the different things going on at the club that night. Later on things were finishing up. He was packing up his set. I walked up and introduced myself. He asked if that was my boyfriend. I said yes. I got the vibe that he was in fact interested in me. He gave me his phone number. We headed back home. When I got back to my apartment all I could think about was how awesome that was. Was he hitting on me? I have a boyfriend. I do consider the possibilities.

The Mixed Kid Defense
I am sure most of you have seen or heard about this woman hurling a racial slur at a Hispanic gentlemen. He had overheard her conversation and suggested she go to another store that might able to help her. She gets defensive and proceeds to tell him to mind his business and that she ain't afraid of no Spic. From the crux of whoever she was talking to, she was quite upset about being in the ghetto. Now I know that racism is alive. I know I am not an idiot to this fact but I find it funny how people are just being freely filmed while being a loathsome human being. These days, the racists seem to think they have a free pass for no longer holding back how they feel. I mean how do you actually function in any country knowing you have to interact with people of different ethnicities?

Can You Survive a Long Distance Relationship?
Love is hard. False, love is actually very easy. If you think about it, we all have someone in our life that we love. For example, it could be your mother, father, grandparents, aunt or uncle, friends etc, and we don't stop to think about how much we love them, we just do because it's un-conditional. We're brought into the world by our parents and in most cases we learn love from them without any conditions, because they are there for us and they surround us with safety and comfort.

What I Learned From Dyeing My Hair Blue
In July of 2016, I went from brunette to having blue, green, and purple “mermaid hair.” I’d wanted to dye it for a while, but had never followed through on it before. Before I did it, many of the adults around me (that weren’t my friends) kept telling me how much I’d regret it and how drastically it would negatively impact my life. I was told that I’d never get respect, that it’d ruin my hair, that I’d miss my old color too much, that it’s only something delinquent teenagers do, and even that having dyed hair would make me want to “fit in to that crowd,” somehow causing me to do things like drugs and other illegal activities. They were all certain that simply changing my hair color would somehow change who I was.
