For better or for worse, relationships reveal the core of the human condition.

The Different Forms of Pain
Everyone goes through pain in their life. It could be heartbreak, loss, abuse, or even mental pain from the ones that we think are our friends or family. In an average life, a person will deal with at least two of these. Personally, I have dealt with them all, and although that sounded like bragging, it wasn't.

If You Didn't Go to Your Senior Prom, It's Okay
The past few weekends I have been seeing a lot of prom pictures. It's all the pretty girls, with their pretty dresses, their cute dates, and all their friends looking like they're having the time of their lives. It brought me back to the place I was in just a year ago, when I didn't attend my senior prom.

'DEEP'—Her Touch Is Empty
She tamed their heart’s beast, by being troubled against a wall. Stuck in position, she could not give what they desired. A lost envoy rests on the shoulders of this one, she thinks. Peering past the bathroom situation and the countless other times she tempted men to cross her boundaries, neither a whore nor a prude, she only wanted to live in the same light as her peers.

Vantablack
Every time I stare in the mirror, I see her. A not-so-tall person, who always has a detestable look in her face. She does not understand the meaning of love. Ever since she was a child, her parents were always away at work. She did not understand why. Being unable to enjoy life like a normal kid, she read what was left on the bookshelves, and talked to herself to keep herself company. In school, she was never the popular one. In school, she would sit in a corner, trying to understand why the people around her could smile just as easy as breathing. One time, she asked her mother about her occupation as she heard other children sharing about their parents. Her mother was busy, and asked her to stop bothering her. However, she just could not give up, and kept on asking. To her surprise, her mother slapped her in the face and asked her to go somewhere else. She did. At the end of the day, she would never live like a normal child, nor experience what it was like to be loved.

On the Cusp of Twenty-One
The leaves had just begun to change, slowly crusting over into the many different shades of red and orange. Their fall to the ground seemingly inevitable, where they would then remain until the air grew cold and they succumbed to an onslaught of snow.

The Colours of Abuse
You love him, and he has his issues. But who doesn’t, right? Those thoughts rush through your mind every time he lays an unkind hand on your porcelain skin, creating the marks of indigo, that mark you his property, the green of envy upon your arm proves the fear of letting go, the crimson blood shows his anger across your face, the crystal water falling from your eyes demonstrates your love. I can fix him, it will be okay… it never becomes okay. When making love becomes everything except love, when the hand that once held you, now makes it hard for you to breathe, this is when you know it will not be okay.
