Chainmaille
Today I want to discuss a subject that is near and dear to my heart: chainmaille. Those of you who found me through writing may not realize that my primary occupation is actually that of a chainmaille artisan. I don’t create combat ready armor (but I hope to add that to my list one day), but instead focus on beauty and costume. I love the colors and the possibilities. I thrill at seeing a pile of rings become something beautiful and unique.

The Secret to the Perfect Acrylic Blending Technique
Are you a new artist, or maybe a beginner who paints once in a while, or just want to learn more and get better? There is so much to learn when you start your painting journey, from what brushes to use to what colors to mix to what brands of paints are the best to buy. But the one thing most acrylic painters have a very difficult time with is blending the paint colors. Acrylics dry very fast, not like oil painting; with oils you can paint for days and your paint stays wet—it's called wet on wet painting.

'Excitebike' Perler Bead DIY
Greetings, Vocal readers. It’s been a while since I’ve done a perler bead DIY. The last one I’ve done was the Nintendo logo, which was about a month ago. In case you haven’t seen it, I’ll post a link to it at the end of this article. In this article, I’ll show you how to make this rider that you see above from Excitebike. This game made its debut on the Famicom in 1984 and as a launch title for the NES a year later. When I first played it on the NES Classic a couple of years ago, it wasn’t like any of the other racing games that I was used to playing. Every time I would jump over a ramp, I would fall off my bike. So long story short, I placed 23rd in a race and haven’t played that game since. Hopefully I’ll play it again someday and improve.

Nine Seasonal Craft Projects
Pine Cone Bird Feeders Collect pine cones on an autumn walk in the woods, then cosy up round the stove to make these tasty treats for the birds in your garden. Bird tables and garden feeders can be a vital source of sustenance for birds throughout the winter, and this high-fat snack is fun to make with your little ones who will love learning about the different birds who come to feast! Melt a little lard in a saucepan, and remove from the heat before stirring in some wild bird seed mix. Attach some sturdy cotton to an open pine cone, and carefully dip into the cone into the pan, taking care as the mixture will be very hot, and lay them to rest on a baking sheet or waxed paper. When the cones are dry and hardened, hang them in a tree or from your bird table then get your binoculars ready to spot who comes to have a snack!

Some Tools That Can Enhance a Woodworker’s Perfection!
Woodworkers are definitely wood artists! They have the tendency to create unique and accurate pieces of furniture or valuables from a very natural and raw resource. It is not only an act of amazement, but also a pretty difficult task to accomplish. A woodworker has to be very precise and perfect in her/his work to produce perfect pieces of finished wooden goods.

The Basics of Starting a Bullet Journal - That You Can Actually Keep Up With
I use my bullet journal every day, and I mean that literally. I use mine to help me balance my life, my school work, and any appointments that I have. I've been bullet journaling for 2 years and the first year was rough, I won't lie. I wanted to try everything that looked cool on Pinterest and I ended up overwhelming myself and not being able to keep up with the spreads that I started. After working out all the bugs, I have started my bullet journal for my sophomore year with spreads that helped me my freshman year. I had to read a bunch of blogs for inspiration and to try and get the ideas in my head out onto paper. Hopefully, this post can help those of you who don't know where to start! I have had quite a few friends ask me questions about my bullet journals, so I'm going to try and answer a bunch of common ones I've gotten recently!

Real, Counter-Intuitive Advice on How to Keep a Journal
There are three things no one tells you about how to form a habit of writing—particularly in a journal, which I think, anyway, is the most fertile loam for stories, poems, profound realizations, and anything else one could desire to write. These insights run counter to a lot of the advice I read in articles and books on this subject, but the only argument I’ll offer is that my advice comes from over twenty years of non-stop journaling, and represents the key elements I’ve found are needed to free your inner record-everything deep-thought beast. Without further ado, here are my biggest tips for becoming a hardcore addicted-to-writing journaler.
