Learning to Soar

A Story of Overcoming Self-Doubt and Pursuing Your Dreams

By Gokul freelancerPublished 3 years ago 3 min read

Once upon a time, there was a young man named Tom who dreamed of becoming a successful entrepreneur. He had a passion for business and had read countless books on the subject. But he lacked the confidence to take the first step and start his own business.

One day, Tom met an old man who was sitting alone in the park. The old man noticed the sadness in Tom's eyes and asked him what was troubling him. Tom told him about his dream of becoming an entrepreneur, but he didn't believe he had what it takes to succeed.

The old man smiled and said, "I have a story to tell you." He began to tell Tom about a young eagle that had been raised by chickens. The eagle had grown up believing that he was a chicken and had never learned to fly.

One day, the eagle saw a group of eagles soaring through the sky and was mesmerized by their grace and freedom. He longed to fly like them, but the chickens told him that he was not an eagle and could never learn to fly.

The eagle was heartbroken and lived the rest of his life on the ground, never realizing his true potential.

Tom was moved by the story and asked the old man what it meant. The old man replied, "You are like the eagle, Tom. You were born to soar, but you will never know what you're capable of if you don't take the first step."

Tom realized that he had been holding himself back with his doubts and fears. He decided to take a leap of faith and start his own business. It wasn't easy, but he worked hard and persevered through the challenges.

Years later, Tom looked back on his journey with pride. He had built a successful company and had inspired others to pursue their dreams. He knew that he had fulfilled his true potential and was grateful for the old man who had given him the courage to soar.

Tom never forgot the old man's words of wisdom and continued to apply them in his life. He faced new challenges and obstacles along the way, but he never lost sight of his dreams.

He also made it a point to help others who were struggling with self-doubt and fear. He mentored young entrepreneurs and shared his knowledge and experience to help them succeed.

Tom realized that his success wasn't just about achieving his own goals, but also about inspiring others to reach for their dreams. He felt fulfilled knowing that he had made a positive impact on the lives of those around him.

Years later, when Tom was an old man himself, he returned to the park where he had met the wise old man. He sat on the same bench and looked out at the sky, thinking about all that he had accomplished.

As he sat there, he saw a young man walking by with a look of self-doubt on his face. Tom knew that he had to pass on the wisdom that had been shared with him all those years ago. He called out to the young man and began to tell him the story of the eagle and the chickens.

The young man listened intently, and Tom could see the doubt fading from his eyes. He knew that he had inspired another person to pursue their dreams and soar to new heights.

Tom smiled, knowing that the old man's words would continue to inspire others long after he was gone. He was grateful for the journey that had brought him to that moment, and he knew that he had fulfilled his true purpose in life.
