Unexpected Friends
A Rat (EWWW)! Companionship comes in all shapes, sizes, and colors. In my case, the companions I chose ended up being quite non-traditional, if non-traditional can be applied to an emotional counterpart. Out of what could be chosen, I ended up with small, soft, and super cute friends regardless of the constant “EWWW, are they gross” reactions I receive. Irrespective of what’s often considered a “traditional pet,” I found some adorable and loving companions that have ended up being the perfect friends over the past few months, and I wouldn’t ask for anyone else.

Spiders On My Truck
Spiders On My Truck By Roberto Alago Working animals and pets share a special bond with their handlers and companions. Often, each can anticipate the actions or reactions of the other. They seem to sense each other's feelings and at times, express joy or sadness in reaction to the other's actions, behavior or mood.

3 Important Life Lessons From Bud the Turtle
Turtles are single-minded when in pursuit of a goal. I’ve had 25 years to observe this phenomenon, and expect to continue these observations for another 15 years. Domesticated turtles have long lives, although calling them “domesticated” might be pushing things a bit. Turtles do what they want to do. They take the stereotypes of cats to the utter limits.

Its a Bull
It's a Bull When Rosie came to us we knew she was pregnant. Having a baby calf on our new farm sounded great. We got Rosie on Easter. She was so sweet. We knew she was due in May. Every day she would moo. So my husband and I decided to get her a friend. We got Maggie a Dexter cow and her baby Chestnut. Rosie was amazing with Chestnut. She treated it as her own. Rosie takes care of everybody, the goats, cows, and calf. So as time went on, May approached. We could see Rosie was huge. We were thinking about why she has not given birth yet. Two weeks later my husband and I headed to bed. We heard a moo. We looked at the camera. Couldn't see well but we saw something. We got our shoes on. Went out to the barn at midnight.

Owning Pet Rats
I decided to become a rat mum on a whim. I realized later that this was not a mistake per se, but I probably would have benefitted from doing my research before making the two-year commitment my boys would ensure. Just because they are a little pet, rats are not by any means low maintenance. I found this out the hard way.
