And Then I Wrote It Down...
A Small Compilation of Thoughts
Not Tapping Out
Life's a wonderous thing sometimes filled with pain
We all have those moments that make us feel insane
Locked in a closet with nowhere to scream
I wish I could have helped you but what would that mean
Such a beautiful life and a loving heart
But in one rash decision it all fell apart
How did it all happen
I'll never know
But I keep asking what made you go
The rush of all the events until it's a blur
And then it all slows down when the news starts to stir
Nobody knew what you were going through or really how to help
But no one wanted to see you end it by yourself
Such a beautiful life and a loving heart
But in one rash decision it all fell apart
How did it all happen
I'll never know
But I keep asking what made you go
What was the point when you just had enough
Was it just a nightmare or were you just playing tough
How could no one see it when you looked into their eyes
It's hard to deal with defeat
I wish you saw the light
Such a beautiful life and a loving heart
But in one rash decision it all fell apart
How did it all happen
I'll never know
But I keep asking what made you go
Moving Forward
Aimlessly wondering how to pick up the pieces
When the pieces have been broken so many times
And I'm thankful I have a shoulder to lean on
But we are both pulling it in overtime
No one wrote about what happens next
It's a lot a bit frightening and a little intense
But we keep carving out our dream
Working together to figure out what it means
We never imagined this adventurous twist
And it's all gone by so fast that it's easy to miss
The moments were many the changes were too
We're living an entirely different life than we pictured it's true
No one wrote about what happens next
It's a lot a bit frightening and a little intense
But we keep carving out our dream
Working together to figure out what it means
Thankful for all our blessings unexpected and new
We had painted a picture once but at that time we never knew
You can't create a masterpiece without spilling a little paint
A story can't be planned it's the decisions that you make
No one wrote about what happens next
It's a lot a bit frightening and a little intense
But we keep carving out our dream
Working together to figure out what it means
Crack in the Smile
Delving into a situational gravity
Pulled me to the floor so confusing it was hard to see
What was up, what was down, who is wrong, do you got that right
All the words that I'm hearing have a hard relentless bite
And I know there's a red flag but it is always hidden by a smile
A puppeteer on the edge working my strings
I'm so senile
If I could cut lose I might be set free but the tragedy to this is I'm just a worked up pawn
In a game I had no intention of playing and the results are so wrong
Sometimes good intentions are taken for granted with no appreciation for sweat or tears
And the biggest apprehension is having to conquer all your fears
Do I confine myself to this tantrum already knowing how it ends
Or do I back off all together and give myself some time to mend
And I know there's a red flag but it is always hidden by a smile
A puppeteer on the edge working my strings
I'm so senile
If I could cut lose I might be set free but the tragedy to this is I'm just a worked up pawn
In a game I had no intention of playing and the results are so wrong
The damage is done and now I have armor all around
I was sad and disappointed by your fake cherished invisible crown
But now I know how transparent things are when the spotlight is on your actions
I don't need a made up ending
Now I see your infractions
And I know there's a red flag but it is always hidden by a smile
A puppeteer on the edge working my strings
I'm so senile
If I could cut lose I might be set free but the tragedy to this is I'm just a worked up pawn
In a game I had no intention of playing and the results are so wrong
