I hide from it, but that doesn't work.

Where does it come from, where does it lurk?

It follows every cautious breath I take.

This is a great storm, and I'm caught in its wake.

The rain pours like tears down a sacred mountain.

I eagerly wait my turn to drink from its fountain.

Adrenaline charts a course, through every waiting vein.

If it wasn't for the meds, I would surely lose my brain.

I try to relax to lessen the beats per minute.

I'm all in on this one and plan to win it.

In the midst of things, I forget that life is beautiful.

Send the dark far away, it's not immutable.

Calm, collected, pills in sight.

I crushed fate again! I will survive the night!

Gone but never forgotten

Woah. Another classic. This is far-too-relatable. I am now in the quandry because I have to pick one. Thank you for sharing this as part of the submissions for the book. So bold and frank. Loved it.
