When all is said and done
empathy remains
the supreme human virtue.
Not an iota of doubt
when we feel it, practice it,
despite being mortals,
we turn into angels,
we become alchemists
who warm the hearts of others.
I totally agree that
it's the highest form of wisdom.
We are fools,
if we don't harbor
this glorious virtue.
It's the legacy
we are looking for.
Embrace the art of empathy,
for its worth learning.
With a heart with empathy.
not only you support others,
but elevate in own eyes,
who does not want
to find reasons for self-love?

Field of the Fallen
Sunlight danced softly across the frost-crusted fields, making the little blades of grass sparkle like emeralds. The faraway chirrup of a songbird was the only disruption to the quiet of the morning. An icy chill, the last vestige of the dying winter, clung to the air, settling in a thick white mist at the far side of the open field. The heavy stench of decay hung in that mist, punctuation by the sharp tang of freshly spilled blood.
