flowery flowery nothings of spring and summer
come forth from the seeds of fanciful hope
hope dressed in the finest of fabrics
oh how oh how the fantasy, the façade fits
my love, my true, my deep ocean blue
my one, my only, my pretty peony.
*
flowery flowery nothings, unsubstantiated lovelorn
flowery nothings, sycophancy, for them I desire
A desire dressed in the most petite of precious petals
oh how oh how the flowing, feathery fabric fits
Finger slips vaginal fluid floods, puddles
my sun, my world, my beautiful girl
my muse, my aurora borealis, my cute corydalis

I don't know whether to blush or gush, Paul. Very evocative. Well done.
Nicely done 👏👏👏
As always this is great man! I agree with the change that wasn’t a change
This poem was visceral and shocking in the best way!
Love this dude, and agree with harper below. I read the "fluids" version and must say... Was already jarred with fluids but discharge would've been VERY jarring haha
Love this! Would love it more if it said "fluid(s)" instead of "discharge." Favorite lines: "my love, my true, my deep ocean blue /my one, my only, my pretty peony." That internal near rhyme is so fucking fabulous, especially following the lovely ocean line.
'come forth from seeds of fanciful hope' is an excellent line!! I really felt that!
Hahaha great you did one about that. I really liked the ending g beginning with desire dressed and on to the end… fine job!
This was a fun, different perspective you chose Paul!! Love the seasnality of it and whimsical feel of it!
Read this the day you published it and just didn’t have time to comment at the moment but it was such a great anchor to remind me what my last read was! Great use of repetition and alliteration! Loved all the “flowery nothings” and flowery somethings! And the dose of cynicism!
I love the way this dances along and you find your self caught up in its waltz as it lightens your load! Loved it!
Nicely done, Paul. I know it's not your usual thang, lol, but sometimes positivity should be given it's due just as much as the dark and dour. It can pack just as much of a punch (as shown with your poem). Thanks for the sunshine! 😊
Your poem is streams of consciousness writing to me. Almost like a free writing exercise. Good work.
I love this! I can feel the restraint this must have taken lol I like the picture too!
Sometimes the thing knows where it wants to go and that's that!
So gorgeous, my friend! Omg I loved "my muse, my aurora borealis, my cute corydalis" so much 🥰 Youve painted an exquisite picture and that image is stunning as well!
An interesting challenge - there is a place for flowery nothings, I think. I feel comfortable with them, they are part of a broader picture, an they dont need to be made lesser because their existence is so fleeting. But its hard to feel they are whole without acknowledging that there is decay beneath, isnt it.
Love it
Your disdain for saccharine silliness is showing!
Romantic, yes. Mushy, yes. Crap, no way! Well done Sir Paul 🍩🥐
