“I found in you what I thought once lost to me.
Creativity, borne from my over active mind. Once held high above my head, showered with love and touted as my best quality; cried out for freedom but was silenced repeatedly.
Freedom to be, to live, to laugh. Freedom to choose. A piece of me that once gave me joy, shoved deep into a corner grasping for air. My freedom begged for help and was met with unrelenting force.
A piece of my soul once ripped from my body, taken away by the weight of a thousand unanswered questions. I found my peace in the piece of you that filled that void. I found laughter in the air, where once it was silent. I found beauty in the morning sun, where once it always night. I found serenity in the ground beneath my feet, where once it was a hurdle for me to walk.
I found answers to the questions I begged to be answered. You gave to me the only thing I ever needed, the freedom to just be me again.”
About the Creator
Jake Trammell
I write things I could never speak aloud. Usually in the form of poetry or short stories. One day I’d like to write a novel.
