Just a Minute

A minute is invaluable.

Trapped in the rush of life.

So much potential in its essence,

filled with joy, fears and strife.

*

Like a canvas blank and white

with powers to pull the eye.

To pass so quick and pointlessly

or stretch so long to sigh.

*

So small and short and unreachable

yet causing us to do.

Without this precious minute

we'd have no reason to want a few.

*

Oh this damn minute

lifting me off my bed.

And once its gone I may regret

What to it I'd done or said.
