No Hiding an Ugly Face

Ever

I’m staggering, damned

Mawkish debasement

From a man, half kid

Flirt with dizziness

My awful new friend

Dare show the folly

Flower or a weed?

Climbing a dead house

Cobwebs hold in place

Naive and sullen

Bravado retreats

Like its time burnt up

My face turns away

And why wouldn’t it?

I just can’t climb

Like the weed or the spider
