fathering.
Letting go was the best way I could love myself when I couldn't string the perfect words. There was no explanation I could've provided for my choices; I left you with nothing to cling to except maybe confusion. It simply didn't serve us any longer to hold on so tight. I trusted in anything bigger- in fate. I never stopped loving you. Your longer days and dark nights taught me patience. And I could get through more nights without worrying about you so much, but, still, putting myself first felt new, but . . . good. Better than before. Attending to matters of the heart in perfect solitude.

For whom the bell tolls
It is said that nothing is created, everything is copied. The title of this text was copied from a music by a Brazilian singer named Raul Seixas, called “Por quem os sinos dobram” (For whom the bell tolls), which is a nice but kind of obscure song. In one verse, Raul sings that “one alone never wins a war”, which at least has something to do with my intention in writing this text. The song is the first track of the B side of the album “Por quem os sinos dobram”, released in 1979.

Dream Journey
Thrust into a world that is limited only by what is in your mind. A place that allows the imagination to run wild, unconsciously. We can get to a region we never knew that even existed, let alone was actually inside our heads. Dreams have more power than one would think, and they can be the key to unlocking the deepest parts of your subconsciousness. The difficult task you need only to do is to remember.

My Familiar
Today was the day I've been waiting for, for as long as I can remember. It is my sixteenth birthday and the day that I get to choose my familiar. As a descendent of a long line of witches predating the Salem witch trials, choosing your familiar was a big deal. It was the coming of age for the women in my family. A familiar is a spiritual entity that would appears to us in an animal form, sometimes they were referred as animal guides. A familiar was a witch’s most faithful companion that would remain with them until the end of their days, they acted as a guardians and protectors to the ones their loyalty was sworn to. They were more than a pet, a familiars bond was deeper then family blood.

Why are we ourselves?
Ever wonder why you're you and not someone else? It's not an expression of self loathing. It's something we all play with at some point I imagine. Maybe there's more there. Perhaps instead of asking why you are you and I am me we could ask why am I animate? Why is most of reality not perceptual and we happen to find ourselves in a position where we are? Of all the events that we could occupy we find ourselves in one where the event is that of perception. Of course I couldn't imagine it any other way... However, I could answer why we're human.... It's nice to know that still doesn't answer the question. Whatever the answer is it's sure to be of profound significance.
