The Life I Chose

Poem

By Tracie SperlingPublished about 2 hours ago 2 min read

I honor the life I chose. No one pressured me into it. I am young, wild, and free. I no longer regret the mistakes of the past. I have enough to get by. I have had my share of hard times. I am thankful for every twist and turn in this life. I can make it on my own this time. So, I follow my heart and I follow the light. And I know that my answer will be nothing to hide. Oh it’s all I need to realize, I have only one life. I have to live with my own desires and disregard people’s expectations of what they want me to be. I am not going to have a government job or work for social security. I am a creative person who enjoys art. I am not going to play the master part of being manipulated into something I don’t have an interest in. I would not be controlled by my environment and let that determine my destiny.

And I will become what I wish to be I am not going to be anything like you or your entity.Grateful for the joy that fills my identity. I am responsible for my ability. No one would judge me or bring me down. For this will not subdue me. I am responsible for keeping my feet on the ground. I would not be haunted by delusions which just causes confusion. I will decide my fate for this will not be in vain. Family would not allow me to change my ways. I am responsible for my actions, I would not be obtained. Thankful for the love that washes away my pain. Because I am the only one to blame. I hate when people take advantage of me. Sometimes I think I am just another one of their games. I am grateful for this life I chose to lead. I know I am still a growing seed and made it better than money and all the saints. I don’t believe in all your complaints I would never be the same if I wasn’t afraid. I’ll set the record straight and keep my promises and would never make the same mistake. I could guarantee you wont even judge my case because I would not accept no conditions. I am in my safe space. I don’t believe in anything but with these words I have faith.
