The Love Collection - Part Six
Part Six Of A Collection Of Love Poems
Poem 16: Losing My Way
Denial
the subconscious response
of the ostrich.
Diversion
the pressing need
of family.
Suddenly
the situation
has altered
and life
falls apart
at the seams.
When I started
with a goal
and with purpose
I never thought
I'd meander
to this.
Poem 17: Emotions
Nothing
obvious
triggers them.
They just
cascade
from pleasure
from pain
from memory,
over
and again.
Nothing
obvious
can hold them:
not age
not intelligence
or wisdom,
but love
pure love
gives them wings
sets them free.
Poem 18: Moonlight Moment
The taste
of your tongue
lingers still
as I watch
the moon
illuminate
the garden.
Lips
parched by kiss
freeze
beguiled
by the beauty
of the night,
wait
for the moment
to pass,
for the glass
to fill
and I return
once more
to the warmth
of our bed.
Thank you for reading the Love collection. I hope you enjoyed these poems.
