It’s been seven hours and fifteen days

Still, I can’t find the words to say

I watched the hours all melt away

From this human vessel of blood and clay

I laid my heart out in your hands

Gave you control, gave you command

A wayward ship seeking dry land

All washed away like shifting sand

It’s been seven hours and fifteen days

Since you took my breath away

Love was a game we chose to play

A game of chess, with hearts at stake

Chances taken, choices were made

Your final move, a sharpened blade

Severing ties, making your getaway

Believing you, my last mistake

Very deep tone. Love the imagery and the mood of it.
