You Picked The Wrong Woman To Destroy

She has redeemed herself

A woman walks this earth to hold tight to those she loves,

She’s born to honour her family, her children, her friends and especially her love,

She’s a giver, a magician who’ll turn love into a home, a safe harbour,

And she’ll gift her loyalty fearlessly, sacrificing her all.

******

Until she can’t!

******

You can rip a woman’s heart to shreds, destroy her over and over again,

Trample her boundaries, make chaos of her peace, and tear apart her soul,

And she’ll pour love into your wounds, forsaking her own,

Healing your trauma, demolishing your demons, while she suffers.

******

Until she can’t!

******

It’s at this point she becomes dangerous, she comes into her own,

You left her shattered on her knees as she screamed for your forgiveness,

For what? For being your emotional punching bag, your crippling basket of cruelty,

Discarded, like she was less than a piece of trash.

******

Until she rose!

******

You thought she’d given up, you smiled at the win,

Joyous in her destruction, with no empathy for the girl that has been lost to your deviancy,

Confident in your ability to hurt her at will, for your sick pleasure, your amusement,

Watching her fade away into oblivion, sunken in upon herself in grief.

******

Until she rose!

******

Quietly, she stood back on her broken feet, taking a deep breath and soldiered on,

Lost — with no place to go, nothing left in her arsenal with which to fight,

Nothing that is, except her courage, her strength, her determination and her refusal to let you win,

She stood and wobbled her way through the debris, finding a nook into which she hid.

******

Until she healed!

******

Decades she worked through every painful wound you carved into her soul,

She nursed the bruises you tattooed upon her delicate, once blemish-free skin,

She reset her broken morals, rebuilt the walls you detonated with spite,

And built strong boundaries; an unbreakable fortress in which she now shelters.

******

Until she healed!

******

After surviving the tortuous walk through your insanity, almost destroying her own mind,

She rose from the ashes you buried her in and returned a very dangerous woman,

One destined to break the chains you tied her heart to, strangling her love,

Wrapping her in a trauma bond, one that took her years to break that rusty old lock you left behind.

******

Until she was ready!

******

She was the extreme definition of patience, biding her time, eye on the prize,

She locked her vulnerability away tight, scavenging the toll of her pain to her advantage,

Building her demons up to a war legend ready for the battle to come,

And built her emotional muscle to Ironman strength.

******

Until she was ready!

******

That once beautifully vulnerable woman is now a force to be reckoned with,

Built of steel and cold courage, stalking a warpath of resilience with a one track mind,

She rolled into town on the back of a tornado and tore your world apart,

Showing you a personality that knew no mercy, as soon as you mistakenly come into her view.

******

Until she won!

******

And there she left you, laying in a puddle of your love’s blood,

Your heart torn from your chest and resting in the corner, beating its own drum,

Deafened to your cries, your begging for forgiveness for past cruelty,

And she smiled — knowing your destruction is now complete, as she walked away.

******

Because she won!

‘ And she’ll gift her loyalty fearlessly, sacrificing her all.’ The word ‘gift’ jumped off the page for me. Powerful …she knows what she has and is offers it freely. Raised with a strong mother I see her in this. Wonderful, really wonderful

I like the narrative feel of this Colleen. I particular liked the lines about the trauma bond and “that rusty old lock you left behind”. Great work. Hope your are literally travelling well! 😊

Oh wow, what a power-packed journey! This one really packs a punch. From vulnerability to a total transformation into unstoppable strength—love it. Her victory over all that chaos is pure empowerment.
