Wine Review: OP Sweet Red Wine
I would like to start off by saying that I am, by no means, a wine connoisseur. However, I can appreciate a good bottle of wine or a mixed drink every now and again. Due to the roaring 20s reemerging due to COVID-19, bars shut down for a time, taking stay at home orders seriously. I don't usually consume wine at bars so this new order gave me the opportunity to try new wines at home. Other than the occasional sip of champagne during the New Years or Christmas Eve celebrations, alcohol in any form wasn't a big part of my life. We had bottles of wine at home but it had to be an occasion for my mother to open them. In the state of Texas TABC allows underage drinking so long as the child's guardian or parent is present and approves. I just wanted to clarify that; my mother and father were not big drinkers but if there was a cause to celebrate and we were old enough, they allowed us to have a glass with them. The summer of 2012 was the first time I got to try wine outside of my parents home. I was 18, spending 10 days touring France, traveling from Nice to Paris.

Lagavulin
For fellow fans of the show "Parks and Recreation" this drink may ring a bell. Lagavulin is not only Ron Swanson's favorite drink but he also ends up becoming a majority owner of the Lagavulin Distillery. Funny enough, Nick Offerman himself was a huge fan of Lagavulin in his personal life long before the show ever aired. This caused the writers of "Park's and Recreation" to write Lagavulin into Ron's character. Now let us see if this drink is worth the hype or not. Spoiler alert, it most definitely is worth the hype and let me explain why.

Not your Ordinary Highball (the Sequel)
In an earlier post, I discussed the creative process in conceptualizing a quality cocktail. The cocktail was named, “Mercy Mercy, Me”. A cocktail made with a synergistic merge of Japanese influenced ingredients. It combines green tea, Japanese whisky, Asian pear, and ginger. All coalesced in the style of a highball; embellished with the effervescence of a Shinko Pear Cider.

Not My Usual. Top Story - January 2021.
I like vodka. At least, that's what I always told people. What I really like is Smirnoff Ice -- the vodka coolers. I also like vodka when it's in mixed drinks, not just straight vodka. After the recent experience I had, I don't know if I'll be having vodka in any form for awhile.

"One Beer"
25DEC2020; 2110, FRI As I sit in my living room sipping sparkling cider, counting my blessings with a "disinformation-friendly outlet" (OANN) playing in the background, I can't help but reminisce on the "drunk nights [that] get remembered more than the sober ones"- Common's intro, and eponymous track off his 6th album, "Be" (24MAY2005). I figure that it's been a New York minute since my last list and I've yet to do a post for the "Proof" community, why not kill two birds with one stone?
