What we have failed to see, besides the deception and lies, is how covering it all up has actually been worse than one imagined. Nobody speaks up on it. We walk around as if nothing happened, no one did anything wrong. The fact that we sit back and do nothing when we should do something, is (not) done for the same reason we believe in fictional heros. Someone with power will take care of it.
