Fad Treatments can be Dangerous for Children with Autism
Let me tell you about Paul, he was diagnosed with autism at age 2 and by the age of 8, he had participated in over 10 fad treatments for autism. Treatments included auditory integration training, gluten-free diet, rotation diet, magnet therapy, intravenous immunoglobulin, secretin, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, prism glasses and a number of medications. Why? Because a parent will do anything to help their child. The issue is that sometimes it takes away from other treatments, sometimes it is ineffective and sometimes it is actually harmful. At the most dangerous level, a five-year-old boy, Abubakar was given chelation therapy and went into cardiac arrest and died. https://www.medpagetoday.com/neurology/autism/1616

Creating Self
Writing, photography, painting, creating. Meditation, burning sage, crystal healing, chakra cleansing. These and other coping skills, creative avenues, and spiritual awakening activities are great. They certainly have their place in feeling/releasing emotion, and can help people get through the day. However, what I have found is that in order to do them, I have to be feeling a certain amount of well already. I have to have the time and energy to put into these self-help activities and creative outlets.

My Experiences Microdosing Psilocybin, LSD, and Iboga
There's a day for everything, isn't there? May 27th is World Microdosing Day, a celebration of a decade-long movement that started when James Fadiman (whose birthday is on May 27th), published his book, then promptly shared his research protocol with people who had decided to try microdosing - a protocol has been followed by millions (perhaps billions) of people at this point on their quest for mental health support, self-exploration, and general wellbeing.

Why are you like this?
About eight years ago, my cousin told me that she'd been diagnosed with ADHD. She'd been medicated. It had been transformative, transcendental for her: she realised that this is what it must be like for other people, she said, to concentrate, to focus, to not lose things or forget they exist once out of your sight, to have the mental clarity of one's best days almost every day instead of as a rare treat.

Holistic Health
Holistic Health is an approach to life. Rather than focusing on illness or specific parts of the body, this approach to health considers the whole person and their interactions within their environment. It accentuates the mind, body, and spirit connection, with the goal being to achieve optimum well-being. Holistic health patients accept responsibility for their own level of well-being, and their everyday choices, to take responsibility of their own health. The four strategies to consider when promoting positive mental health are; encourage typical life experiences, increase coping skills, increase social support, and empower families (Huff, McClanahan & Omar, 2010). Holistic medicine focuses on treating the entire person and not just the disorder or affliction. In the assessment and management of chronical illness and specific disorders the holistic health care provider considers biopsychosocial factors of biological, psychological, and social concerns. These biopsychosocial aspects influence one another and are integral to healthy emotional functioning (Huff, McClanahan & Omar, 2010). In considering wellness, fostering positive mental health, the medical management goal is to minimize the impact of the disease on the physical, emotional development and functioning of the patient. Holistic health promotes a mental health goal of achieving balance between disease management and positive mental health. The Holistic health care provider embraces quality of life, believing all parts of physical, emotional, environmental, and spiritual aspects help patient life balance to address any issues, sickness, or disorder, to make a person whole (Walter, 1999).

Ayahuasca
This can be the experience of a lifetime, but it could turn into a disaster in split seconds. Ayahuasca, mainly found in the Amazon is a psychedelic plant and once used by Indigenous people in the Amazon tribes as part of religious ceremonies. The purpose of this was to align themselves with the element of Earth. Those who are curious and strong enough to venture themselves in the Amazon are blessed with its benefits and returned with a different perspective of life.

Which Type of Addiction Treatment Program is Right For You?
When it comes time to enroll in a drug and alcohol treatment program, one decision you’ll have to make is which type of program is best suited to help you successfully stop using substances and start your recovery journey. Picking the right rehab program is essential for long-term recovery. Although treatment doesn’t cure addiction, it can help you address the underlying reasons for your addiction and teach you how to make lifestyle changes that are conducive to sobriety.
