We are all aware of the Great Wall of China in terms of its historical significance and its significant size. Rightfully so, the Chinese people are very proud of this structure. Despite its magnificence it has absolutely no impact on those of us who reside in other countries, such as the United States. But there is another wall that the Chinese have put in place, one that most people have not heard of. It is that wall that has an impact on our lives. You likely won’t read about it, unless you follow industry news for waste and recycling.

Taxation with Fraudulent Representation
In 1765, the colonists cited "taxation without representation" as one of the grievances which eventually led to the American revolution. England imposed taxes on the colonists although they had no representatives in Parliament and their best interests were essentially of no matter to the Crown. They called this "tyranny" and rebelled against this form of government because it was unjust.

Rise Up
We the people. If you live in the US, you've heard those three words (and probably at least part of the statement after it) more times than you can count. Out of the entire constitution, these three words have been drilled into our minds since we could even say "politics" — but do we really hold enough value to them? It's easy to memorize a line or statement and repeat it like a broken record. The part where a lot of us seem to lose interest is in analyzing what exactly the speaker meant. We know it's important, but we don't really care why, and that needs to change.

America: The Real Problem
In today's society, we are facing multiple dilemmas. Terrorists roam the busy streets of every country, every continent, and every city filled with innocent faces. Hate fills the rooms and hallways in which we walk down, our own minds overwhelmed by our own internal quandary to stop and reassure the one sitting in the corner with eyes burning into their skull because of their skin tone, the way they are dressed, or the hand they are clutching which just happens to be of their own gender. Bullies torment our children in places that should only be filled with laughter and infinite knowledge, contaminating them into places of fear and anxiety. In each one of these predicaments lies one common knowledge as one reason for these evil doings: Prejudice.

You Cannot 'Escape' Racism
These arguments have been going on for a long, long time. I know a lot of us are feeling heavy right now, especially with the protests, and the violence, and shootings, and wave after brutal wave of seemingly endless pain and suffering. I haven’t gotten involved up until this point, but something happened earlier this week that has prompted me to no longer remain silent. I want to use this example, specifically, as a highlight for the protests and violence erupting over race. (Also, as an example to my White brothers and sisters in here, in case they’re in a similar situation and might not know how to go about it.)
