The Layers of Taking Deshaun Watson
With the 12th overall pick in the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday night, the Houston Texans traded up to get themselves a quarterback. While many had them taking the best available quarterback at No. 25, I believe the decision to draft Deshaun Watson is a little more complex than it seems on the surface. It isn’t simply because Watson was available and fills the need.

How Zeke and the Dallas Cowboys Rejuvenated the Running Back
The 2017 NFL Draft has come and gone. As the hot takes, analysis, opinions, trends, and everything else come in, the NFL football fan should have plenty to tide them over for about a month. As many look to the future and how their team performed in the draft, this seems like a perfect time to look back into the past.

Cleveland Browns Did It Right
Whew! The NFL Draft has finally begun. The drama filled soap opera that has been the Cleveland Brown’s lead up to the draft has finally climaxed. Analysts and fans alike knew the Browns were in the best position to take a step forward in the 2017–18 NFL season. However in the back of our minds, we all worried the Browns would mess up again. But after declaring they would choose Myles Garrett as the No. 1 pick, the story was clearer: the Browns can do it right.

Someone, Anyone Trade for Richard Sherman
The saying goes, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” But apparently the Seattle Seahawks didn’t get that memo. The last few weeks of the offseason have been littered with talk that the Seahawks are fielding offers for their All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman.

The Straw That Broke Romo’s Back
On Tuesday, the news broke that former Dallas Cowboy Quarterback Tony Romo would be released from the team. As the rumors have pointed to for quite a few days now Romo has secured a cushy job in the broadcast booth, taking over for Phil Simms as the ‘No. 1’ color commentator for CBS Football. Looking back on Romo’s football career, what does it all mean? Should he have come back another year? Was this just the right time? Is he a Hall of Famer? Some of these questions can only be answered by the man himself, but others are up for debate.

New England Patriots: Record Breakers & Dynasty Makers
Down 28–3 in the third quarter, facing a white hot Atlanta Falcons offense, they did the unthinkable. Tom Brady and Bill Belichick became two men on a mission to shatter the record books and stun Matt Ryan and Julio Jones in the first overtime game in Super Bowl history in as dramatic fashion as it gets.

The Worst Bracket Breakdown on the Internet
I’m a dope. I get far too excited for the NCAA men’s basketball tournament each and every year. I treat the opening weekend like bacchanalia and neglect all adult duties. I inevitably end up with basketball fatigue if *my team* is eliminated. Yet here I am again. Like a virgin on prom night (and thousands of nights after because I’m the type of guy who has a tendency to become obsessively enthralled with all measure of nerd-dom) full of a fervor that can only be described as hormonal.

Why Andrew Luck’s Window for “Greatness” Might Be Closing
A few short years ago, ahead of the 2012 NFL Draft, there was one name that was all the rage. This name was none other than prize quarterbacking prodigy Andrew Luck out of Stanford. Not only was the pedigree supposedly there, being the offspring of another former NFL quarterback Oliver Luck, but according to every scout, pundit, coach, and analyst that salivated over the prospect, the talent and natural ability was there also. This football player, this man, this quarterbacking “GOD” was sure to be the next big thing in the NFL and surely the best quarterback in the league someday.

Who Is This Year’s Dark Horse of College Football?
There is nothing — and I mean nothing — like college football. If you have ever been on a college campus around the time of a big rivalry game (or any big game in general), you know exactly what I’m talking about. Hopes of the playoffs can be dashed in one game. I need some Jim Harbaugh khakis in my life now. Which had me thinking: who are some teams that can make 2017 their magical season? To make the playoffs you need a lot of luck, but that's not the only thing. You need a decent schedule (not too hard because two losses basically takes you out of it), you need to stay healthy, and you need to pass the eye exam (how much fun is this team to watch). This year should be fun. Teams like Auburn and Georgia should raise the SEC back to the level we are all used to; Florida State could be a legit opponent to Clemson in the ACC; Penn State is going to battle with Michigan and Ohio State for the Big 10 title. But who are the actual dark horses for the 2017 college football season?
