humanity
If nothing else, travel opens your eyes to the colorful quilt that is humankind.
NO HALO
Audrey sat in the front seat of her car. A bottle of wine that she didn’t realize she already emptied was in her fist. Her tiny fist. The skyline was milking out the final drops of violet as the temperature fell with the sun. She waited. She felt stupid. She licked her sour lips and put a cold hand to her burning cheek. She was glad there were some clouds out today so that the sunset looked more like a painting than it did like nature. She was also incredibly glad that no one was on this side of the trail parking lot at 7:46pm on a Tuesday night in July.

Mysteries of the Apple
Trouble seems to find some people like metal to a magnet. But how? Why? If they are not a thieving scoundrel now, were they in a past life? Perhaps born under Ophiuchus, the forgotten constellation, and the world doesn't quite know what to do with them. Most likely it's just simple bad luck. Whatever the how and why, Griffin, Griff, was marked.

My Journey to Greenway
I waited a long time to visit Greenway, Agatha Christie’s holiday home near Dartmouth, UK. It might seem a strange destination to have in your mind as a place to visit, particularly over decades, but it was more what it represented to me than the actual place.

I’m Moving into a Penthouse Condo in Mexico
I moved to Mazatlan, Mexico, one year ago because it’s much cheaper than living in California. I’ve been renting an apartment in a nice neighborhood for around $750 U.S. dollars. Everyone tells me I’m paying too much. Coming from California, it’s a steal! You can’t rent an apartment for that period in CA! I do live in the more expensive part of Mazatlan, where all the ex-pats congregate. I used a real estate agent to find an apartment, and here’s where I ended up.

Macchu Picchu
The sun wasn't even up when we stumbled our way to the first bus of the day that would bring us up to the mountain top where we would find the most mysterious of ruins left by the Inca, "Machu Picchu". We had taken a bus and train from the beautiful city of Cusco the day before, and this was the last leg of our journey. Now most people think that they have to do the tour from the city. They tell you it's too difficult to reach by yourself. Some even think they are doing something cool, and choose the tour that takes you on a three day hike up the "original Inca trail". It's not! The best way, as with every place I've ever been, is to do it yourself. Meet the locals, ask questions, spend the time to really see the true culture, not just what the tour groups want you to see.
