What's on the Other Side?
I thought I closed out 2023 with a villanelle about writing with the Vocal community. Then I thought, why not write some thoughts about going forward on Vocal in 2024? So I did that. Then, Vocal posted a challenge about doing what I had just done. So, here I am, getting ready to do that stuff again. And I'm okay with it. I hope you will be, too and I promise to add some new, hopefully interesting, stuff.

Tiny Beautiful Resolutions. Top Story - January 2024.
On the first page of my new planner of 2024, it asked "What's your word for this year?" Now we'll come back to what word I picked in a second, but as I started thinking about what word would best encapsulate my intentions for 2024, I thought about the first episode of Tiny Beautiful Things on Hulu, and one part came to mind. For reference, Tiny Beautiful Things is a book by Cheryl Strayed that follows Clare (Kathryn Hahn) a floundering writer who becomes a revered advice columnist while her own life is falling apart.
