Bio
I'm the guy who knows every last fact about Spider-man and if I don't I'll track it down. I love bad movies, enjoy table-top gaming, and probably would drive you crazy if you weren't ready for it.

What Do Artists Do?
One of the problems with being a writer is that you can't draw. Don't get me wrong: I'm well aware that some writers can draw and that some are actually good at it. There is definitely nothing saying that a writer can't learn to draw. This is just making the observation that most writers cannot draw and that means that if you want the project to go forward you need to convince an artist to take on the art chores.

You're Not An Impostor
All writers, no matter how good or bad we are, tend to go through some phase where we think we're basically some sort of impostor, where it feels like we're an alien who's been sent here to record the human race, and figure out exactly what the human condition is all about. And because of that, well, we're fully expecting somebody to come over to us and rip off our rubber mask and expose us for the alien that we are.

Powering Through The Apocalypse
Should the apocalypse hit, finding a reliable energy source will be a problem. Most houses are part of the power grid, but most versions of the apocalypse have that disrupted. It is then that gasoline, used to power vehicles and generators, starts ticking down: Within six to twelve months, gasoline can turn bad and become unusable as fuel. This means that a good prepper should have already looked into and implemented other means of obtaining power.

Let's Talk About Firearms!
For some people, using a firearm is not a bad idea for personal self-defense. The problem is that too many people focus on the power of the weapon and not the other issues. If you're serious about owning a firearm, it's those other issues that we need to focus on to determine if a firearm is really that good of an idea for you. In this regard, it's important to recognize the responsibility of a firearm and to consider some of the other issues without getting too lost in the stats. In a weird way, this is not to convince you whether or not to obtain a firearm but to take a step back and breathe before committing.

How to Arguie Online Successfully
One of the more interesting issues with debating people online has been the rise of the politically outspoken. While this is hardly news, the pandemic followed by the fall of certain conservative leaders has seemingly forced both sides into a fever pitch to see who can outscream the other. While this means that the conservatives have decided to ignore debate conventions and engage in every one of the major logical fallacies, their honorable opponents seem to have forgotten that they shouldn't be giving them more ammunition.

Basic Self-Defense For The Untrained Woman
One problem all women face is having to deal with an attacker who has more training or experience than she does. Most attackers are more than willing to take advantage of that, usually by rattling her so that she makes mistakes or forcing her into a position that can make defense virtually impossible. Worse, the woman thinks she needs to think strategically when that should be the last thought on her mind: She should be worried about getting out of the situation as quickly as possible and nothing else.

Surviving The Party
One of the most dangerous arenas is the party scene. It doesn't matter if it's in a fraternity, sorority, or someone's parent's house; there are a lot of potential dangers: getting drunk, getting drugged, falling unconscious in a weird location, even physical or sexual assault. Even if you get drunk or get high like you want, there are plenty of different potential problems you need to worry about when you combine hormones, lack of experience, and chemicals; there is plenty of possibility for dangerous interactions. If your goal is to avoid those explosions, it can make life interesting.

Stopping Sexual Harassment at Work
Sexual harassment is one of the biggest problems in the workplace. The combination of wannabe alphas with what they see as a captive audience has sometimes created a hostile environment. It's also interesting to see how cross-cultural issues are coming to the fore; Japanese businessmen are having to attend special seminars about how much Western women are different than the ones they know.

Smartphones, Self-Defense, and You
Smartphones are one of the most ubiquitous pieces of technology we own. Most people have one and use it relatively commonly for more than phone calls, such as tracking others on social media and playing games. However, the smartphone has numerous utility apps that can be used for more practical purposes, and it's not that hard to set your phone up to take advantage of those apps for your personal self-defense.

Dealing With An Office Tyrant
We've been dealing with office tyrants since we've been organized into small groups. However, the office tyrant didn't fully come into their own until we developed some sort of office: The person who attempts to rule the office by keeping everyone divided, is more worried about their own agenda than that of the business, and who is more worried about enforcing rules rather than allowing any work to get done.

A Little Paranoia Is A Good Thing
The best defense skill is one that allows you to evade being captured and attacked without you being aware of it. Situational awareness is a weird skill as it works best when it is allowed to work in the subconscious, below your conscious mind. Your mind is always evaluating the situation but it's either ignored in favor of an emotional response or because there are political considerations; that is, it's over-ridden due to other priorities. However, if it's allowed to do its job, it helps keep the situation simple.
