New Low-Power Desalination Technology
Water, water everywhere, nor any drop to drink! KISS on a boat Living on a boat as I do, obtaining fresh water is a problem. I try to follow the KISS principle and so I’ve avoided the complexities associated with power-hungry marine desalination systems.

Why You Should Worry About Black Holes
The sun and stars have always fascinated me. I did a bit of astrophysics as part of my physics undergrad degree. And since then, living on a boat as I do, I’ve spent over 400 nights sailing at sea (and I don’t mean in a harbour or anchorage), many of them spent staring up at the cosmos and wondering about it.

Is There a Mirror World?
In case you are already puzzled, the above image is a logarithmic representation of the observable universe. Notable astronomical objects are annotated. Distance from Earth increases exponentially from center to edge. Celestial bodies were enlarged to appreciate their shapes. Rendered specially for Wikipedia.org by Pablo Carlos Budassi.

Could One Weapon Change Geopolitics?
A new Chinese weapon has just been uncovered at the 2022 Zhuhai Air Show. Two missiles marked “2PZD-21” were seen mounted on pylons beneath the wings of an Xian H-6K strategic bomber that landed at Jinwan airport in Zhuhai, the southern coastal city where the biennial Air Show China was being held.
